How are you prepared to navigate the tension between what you are trying to do in your classroom and what is required by your school, district, or state in terms of requirements or standards?

I am prepared to navigate between what I am trying to do in my classroom and what is required in terms of requirements or standards by keeping an open mind set yet also standing my ground. I will voice my opinions and concerns in a professional and appropriate manner, where I can express how I am feeling and what my goals are for my classroom. Being able to communicate and collaborate ideas I believe is key in being successful. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it is how we approach it that is crucial.

Who are the people inside and outside of your school who can support you in the process?

I believe that my friends and family, my colleagues, my students and their families, and the community can all support me in the process. Building a strong support system is so beneficial for all those involved as we are able to come together and lean on each other. Having people who support your vision helps give you the extra courage and strength to work harder towards achieving your goals.

In what tangible ways are you engaging community concerns in your daily instruction?

Communicating with families and friends in the community, hearing their concerns, and actively engaging in meaningful conversations is important to let them know they are heard and their opinions matter.
