In English. We have learnt about Greek Mythology so far. As well as a few subtopics which include:

Freytag's pyramid which helped me create my Greek Myth and my book significantly.
Some vocabulary words which helped boost my vocabulary.
Ancient Greece which I already knew but it was also very interesting

I received a Secure+ in both my English tests which involved drafting our own Greek Myth

What I couldn't do at the start of September but now I can is drafted a Greek Myth that is in high quality.

Cross country EEE

I am attending the Cross country EEE. I feel I made more progress in my stamina, endurance and running speed.

The EEE has helped developing my stamina reserving skill to make my stamina last longer.

I would love to do a Creative writing EEE.

Middle school diploma

I have finished the reading part of the Middle School diploma.

For a long time, I didn't really focus on reading, but now I’m back on track and reading more than ever. I’m really proud of how much I’ve improved and how much I’ve learned through reading.

Honestly, the part of the diploma that I’m most excited about submitting is the reading component. For a year I have had a readers block which stopped me from reading a lot. But now I am starting to read more.

2.2 Sustainability

In food technology we are currently discussing Sustainable living. This is evidence for the empathetic component in the middle school diploma. In MSC/The big green legacy, we are working on living a sustainable life and what the UAE is doing to preserve our planet.

Math

In Math we just started our series of quizzes to help understand how well we understanded the topic.

I feel I have made a great deal of progress because in August I didn't know what PI was or what it's value is or how to calculate it or how to use it properly in a proper calculation. But rest easy because now I know. Another thing was finding a portion of a number example: 43% of 56 but now I know the formula

French

In French we are currently learning about Paris. We are working on describing the monuments in Paris and create a piece of writing that explains our 'trip' to Paris. What I could do in August but now I can is make a detailed piece of creative writing

Science

In science we just finished our Circuit module. The previous modules were Genes, Electromagnets and Reactions. I personally found the Reactions module to be the most challenging one because there was way too much information.

Real World Studies

In real world studies we have been working on the different problems in the world. We finished our debate module which have really improved my research skills. We started another project which includes researching a problem in the world and explaining it.

This year has been particularly slow in terms of reading, but I have managed to read Percy Jackson and the lighting thief, the Greek Mythology booklet and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid No Brainer. I am mostly focusing on writing more than reading this year.

Arabic

I have significantly improved my Arabic skills especially in reading. We are currently slowly working on the letters in Arabic while also working on our pronunciation skills. I thing I couldn't do in Arabic in August is pronounce letters and words better.

Class charts

In my free time, I’m always working on my cricket skills or focusing on my book. Honestly, that’s pretty much what I do all the time. Whether it’s practicing my shots or writing.

In Moral Social Culture, we were studying the history of China a few weeks ago. But now, we’re learning about the big green legacy. One thing I didn’t know at the start of the term but now I do is that China had so many different empires. It’s really interesting to learn about how they shaped the country over time!

How has the Middle School Diploma challenged me to develop different skills

The skill that has been the most challenging to learn was the open-minded skill because I had to think from other perspectives and also absorb their reasoning and feedback. This is Evident in group projects because we need to cooperate together and also combine ideas to produce our desired product. So, it was important to have a clear, non-biased, open minded opinion.

What can I do to increase my NGRT score.

I could pick a title that I am really interested in and want to finish without forcing myself.

I could slowly set a minimum page count to read every day. I could play some music to help me get engaged.

Computer Science

In Computer Science, we worked on Excel during Term 1.1, and now we’re focusing on SPG and Exponential Technology. One thing I didn’t know before the term but now I do is what SPG stands for and how important they are.

Extra-curricular activities outside of school

Outside of school, I play cricket four times a week, twice on the weekends, with each class lasting 2 hours. This doesn’t even include the extra practice or games I do! Playing cricket helps me wake up early, which is great for my routine. It also helps me with socializing, strategic thinking, agility, and quick decision-making. Plus, it keeps me fit and active

NGRT Score

I have got an NGRT score of 7. I will improve this by setting a reading target every day. I am aiming for an 8 next assessment.

Food Technology

3.2 Future ready

In our AEC lesson we were taught how to write a proper letter application. We were first taught on phrasing the text and then applying confidence and evidence on why we are suitable for the role and then explaining on why out of all the applicant we are the most suitable. I think this lesson will really help me with my resume.
