Questions- Why is education important to a society? - Education is important to society because education is about far more than the marks you receive. Without education, sensory information would simply be lost. Education allows us to process the information we receive on a daily basis and make conclusions and inferences based on what we already know.- Do you believe schools should be private or public/state schools? Why?- I believe that it is good that we have both private and public schools. The private schools gives the public schools competition and therefore they have to keep improving their school. - How can difference in education affect social inequality?- Too many of America’s most disadvantaged children grow up without the skills needed to thrive in the twenty-first century. Whether in educational attainment between income groups or racial/ethnic groups or across geographic locations—inequality persists. Low levels of performance among the most disadvantaged create long-term problems, particularly in an economy in which higher skill levels are more and more valued and the wages available to less-skilled workers are deteriorating. Some researchers claim, on one hand, that educational inequality is due to social class and family background. Others argue that inadequately managed schools bear most of the responsibility for low student achievement.- Should basic and higher education be free of charge in all countries? Why/why not? -In my opinion it should be free in all counties, than more people would have the same opportunities. It would not mean that everyone would have the same opportunities, because

- Why is education important to a society? It is important because you need education to almost all jobs and you learn a lot about the society around you. You learn about other people's values and ways to live - Do you believe schools should be private or public/state schools? Why? I believe that schools should be public to everyone, because everyone deserves to have the right to go to school. If we only had private schools the social inequality would be at an all time high. This would make it difficult for families with low income to have their kids go to school. - How can difference in education affect social inequality? Differences in education give different possibilities to succeed in the social community. Everyone should have the same possibility to the type of education they want, regardless of social and economic status. This is currently not the case. - Should basic and higher education be free of charge in all countries? Why/why not? I believe that education should be free in all countries. The reason being that everyone need education to make a living out of themselves. In a society where education cost money, there is a great amount of people who can not afford it. In addition, not only is this bad for each individual that cannot get the education they need, but it is also bad for the society. This is because they lose potential income when people without an education have a hard time finding a job. Working people that earns money have to pay taxes. When less people get jobs, there will be less income in taxes.

Basic and higher education should be free of charge in all countries. It is so that more will gain access to education. Not charging education can lessen the social differences. Charging education makes it hard for people to get the education they need to get somewhere in life (work etc.) There are exceptions when it comes to getting in private schools with provided tuitions such as getting a scholarship or getting in the top 10 in entrance exams, but again it is not easy.
