We often hear negative things about elderly people; society sometimes portrays them as lacking competence and unnecessary. This text set represents elderly people from a positive side: it shows their personalities, roles they play in their families, or their exceptional caretaking skills. These books show that elderly people have a lot to share with children and a lot to contribute to the society, in general. They encourage children to appreciate the elderly and to take advantage of the time they get to spend together. The books in this text set promote kindness, empathy, and understanding for elderly people.
