The staff (Kak Nor) briefed me the job scopes about the company. The job scopes are about manner to make call to the resorts and manners in entertain customers that came for the services. She also taught me procedure to answers from the customers and resorts' representatives. She also told about the island that divide into two which is Pulau Perhentian Besar and Pulau Perhentian Kecil. I also took notes for every details that she told me. She reminded me to always take note when answering the calls which requires to record the details of the customers that booking the packages from Sealife. Lastly, she ended the briefing by telling me that the islands is closed during monsoon season. In the afternoon, i started working because Kak Nor wants me to observe and learn how they handled the customers and what work they do in the office. Another staff which is Kak Yen taught me the procedure to make room booking, invoice, boat ticket, meal voucher, receipt, room voucher and snorkeling voucher. My first task for today is make a guest lists for tomorrow on the form that provide by Jabatan Laut. In order to fulfill the job scope, Kak Yen told me to make phone calls to selected resorts by the customers in order to organize their rooms and also make confirmation if there are any available rooms on the date request. The office opens sharp at 8am. Kak Nor asked to swept the floor first as it is an easy task in order to show how they started their day every single day. since today is Friday and it is weekend, we have a lot of works to do. Many customers came to Perhentian Island during weekend and the jetty will become quite pack. Kak Nor assigned a task that required me to escort the customers to jetty and show them to board on the boats that is own by Sealife. The duration from the office to the jetty is by 5 minute walking. I guided the customers with full procedure as they need to pay for tax before they can go to the jetty. The tax is for protection fee towards Taman Laut and it is compulsory to every customer that come to Perhentian Island. i was on duty at the jetty for 2 hours since the customers were coming at different time. Customers that came early can board on the boats at 8am and those who miss the first boat need to take it at 9am. The task that i did was accompanied by Kak Nor. For example, the boat ticket that i explain include the boat time, the person in charge number and i also need to remind they to be punctual about the time that they need to depart and return.
