1. What puzzles me is why Odysseus needs power over his land to feel complete, Does he believe that to be completely human one must have power over others?
2. I'd like to talk with people about the factors of humanity, based on novels we read, do we need physical, emotional, or mortality characteristics to be considered human?
3. I'm confused about the fact that we have emotions to make us human. Do all individuals have to have experienced a particular emotion to be considered human?
4. Do you think it is similar to be a leader or ruler as expressed in animal farm, and to have a heavy influence in a society or on its people, like Odysseus?
5. In Romeo and Juliet I think that the piece of literature expresses to the reader that love is a vital portion of being human because of the main character;s willingness to die without the ability to love each other. Do you agree with this statement? Do we need to have love to be human?

1. How can reading fiction make us more humane?
2. Don't you think that us reading fiction and expanding our perspective is similar to the pigs in animal farm broadening their views by reading?
3. Do you think that reading fiction makes us better people?
4. Another point of view is that reading doesn't make us more humane, it just makes us smarter and nicer. Do you agree? Why?
5.What do you think the author means when they say that reading deeply is spiritual?

1. How do leadership and desire both make us human when they are opposites?
2. What in Animal Farm do you think portrays what makes us human?
3.How do the two articles show how we are human?
4. Could power also be something that is ruining our humanity?
5. Do you agree that the big idea seems to be that the way we act differentiates us from every other organism?

1. Do you agree that people who always read fiction books make them more kind?
2. Do you think it is inhumane to want to be dominant over others, like how Napoleon was in Animal Farm?
3. How do human qualities show in Romeo and Juliet?
4. Why do you think people need bad traits in order to be more human?
5. Is it better to make mistakes than to always do things correctly?

1. Don't you agree that facing hardships is the greatest part of what makes us human? Unlike being a leader, feeling love, etc. facing hardships or obstacles is something everyone has to go through almost everyday?
2. Do you think that everyone is human and should be treated as human, or are there exceptions?
3. What puzzles me is how all people want to be treated like a human, and with respect, but many of these people act the opposite towards others.
4. Do you agree the big idea is that many different attributes contribute to being a human, but some show and are more important than others?
5. Don't you think that any of the characters facing an obstacle is similar to how we, humans, also face obstacles all the time
