What experiences do you share with the characters?

An experience I share with a character might be when I help my family with certain things like when Jeanette helps her family

In what ways is your family similar or different from those in the book?

My family isn't similar to the book but maybe when we have no food in the house then it's similar.

What did you learn about a character or group of people that you have not personally experienced?

I learned that Jeanette is very independent. Shes very responsible and can be trusted , shes very brave and will grow up to be very intelligent.

I choose poverty because the family doesn't have much money and they don't really have a house most of the time because they are always moving. I would also pick responsibility because the kids have to be responsible for certain things such as grading homework, cleaning the class, etc. I'd also pick family because they are always there for each other and no matter what will help each other out. Home , they don't necessarily have a home but wherever they go they always somehow make a home of it.

What feelings or emotions does this book evoke for you?

This book gives me mixed emotions because it's happy sometimes. The book also makes me sad in a way from the way her parents argue. it is a book with full of emotions because its happy but also kinda sad.

Choose a significant event that occurs in your reading. What do you think the author's purpose was in telling that part of the story? I think the authors purpose was to show in the reading that when families argue maybe you shouldn't hang your wife out of a window.

Is there a relationship between the beginning and the end of the story? in the beginning Rose Mary was careless and didn't care much about anything but more into the book she cares more about when her kids have nothing to eat. There's no food in the house because Rex spends all their money on booze but he doesn't wanna admit he spends all their money. Rose Mary gets a job to keep food where they are living for her kids.
