The clip was very moving, because it truly showed how everyone, no matter who they are, can be united. In the clip, one of the friends gave up what was probably very important to him in order to go help his friend in need. He knew his friend was struggling, and even though his brother had come to watch him perform in the play, yet he still went to support his friend in need.

I really applaud the woman for being right-out and speaking about her mental health condition like it was. However, the man did not seem to take it as lightly. I think many people do not deem it fit for themselves to hang out or even be around someone who has a mental illness. It is really important to understand that one can be so much more than just their mental illness -- an illness doesn't define them; they define their illness.

It was brave of the woman for just telling the dude about her mental illness, and she made it VERY clear that she doesn't need him to treat her any differently, she just needs him to accept her.

It is nice how the 17-year-old is openly speaking about how she feels, however the other horse seems almost to be slowly backing away from her. However, it does seem very rehearsed. When Katie was talking to the therapist, though, it seemed a bit more realistic because of the way she was acting/posing.

I feel that toward the beginning of the clip, the mother was very close-minded and assumptive about both her daughter's needs and mental health in general. I don't think she truly understands why her daughter is acting in the way she is, and she always wants to appear strong in the face of her daughter so she doesn't think to share her feelings. She also believes that therapy is strictly for white people, and is a bit racist in the beginning. However, towards the end of the clip, I like how the whole message is tied together by the therapist/counselor says that the ceramics "are for white people too". That one part symbolizes that the mother's mind is finally opening and the mother and therapist/counselor are relating to each other. This is also the part where the mother starts to accept her daughter (and her own self) for who she actually is.
