She also believes that therapy is strictly for white people, and is a bit racist in the beginning. However, towards the end of the clip, I like how the whole message is tied together by the therapist/counselor says that the ceramics "are for white people too". That one part symbolizes that the mother's mind is finally opening and the mother and therapist/counselor are relating to each other.
