<title>Select two key quotes that are absolutely central to the novel and its characters. (It might be a good idea to commit one of these to memory eventually, so don’t make them too long!). Type selected quotes, include parenthetical citations): “...his dreams mocked to death by Time. That is life of men. Now, women forget all those things they don’t want to remember, and remember everything they don’t want to forget. The dream is the truth.”Place the quotations in context of the story: This relates to the context because Janie is explaining the obvious ways men and women differ. She lives in a world where women are just objects and are treated with little or no regard for their feelings, although women’s thinking is much more complex than a man in many different ways.Explain their meaning and/or importance to the overall story. The quote shows that Janie is highly aware of the facts she is different from the men around her, physically and mentally. It helps her accept and embrace being an African American in the early 1900’sWhat do these quotes say about people and/or the world in general? It shows that society is progressively making changes into making women more equal, especially now-a-days. It showcases the oppression women face because they don’t think the same as men.</title>
