The debate between the four fallen angels and Satan was very eye catching. Mommon and Belial argues not to fight against the heaven. They both feel that they'll suffer worse consequences for trying to fight back. Before reading this book i would have thought all the fallen angels wanted revenge. Beezlebub and Molock feels that the goal is to destroy mankind and the new world.

The part that shocked me was that he decides that he would rather see his family die quickly from his own hand than die the slow death of slavery so he kills Clemene and the unborn child. He is about to kill himself but decides to first have his revenge on those who would not give him his freedom. Eventually he ends up getting killed with a pipe in his mouth by Byam.

The ending of Oroonoko is a hard way to go out, but i can see where he is coming from. He didn't want to see his family suffer from slavery and he didn't his kid to be born into slavery. However, if he was courageous enough he would have fought it out till the end.
