- In short, disciplinary literacy is the way experts in a given field participate in that field.  It is the way they think, write, speak, read, and interact with one another.
- It is important for students to practice disciplinary literacy so that they are able to have a deeper understanding of the material for a given topic.

- I am curious about how students will react to disciplinary literacy (writing) in science and math classes.  I remember being in classes and being relieved that I didn’t have to worry about more writing outside of an english and reading class.

- Will that cause them to grow more of a dislike for school?
