The flexibity and strength of starfish body walls can physically change in response to external circumstances(O'Niell,54).

       Some starfish such as the crown of thorns starfish are capable of eating coral polypus(Emery,91).If you cut starfish up,they are capable of regenerating from a single piece(Emery,92).Starfish are also have compound eyes at the end of their  arms which aid in navigation around their  coral reefs.(Land,2014).
If a star fish gets too hot  it  can detach one of its arms to keep its core body cool in order to save its life.(Nature)

It is important to take good care of the ocean the starfish live in or else they could die.(Venton) Oxygen and acid levels in the water    have to stay within a certain range to maintain starfish health.

The starfish Echinaster spinulosus lives off the coast of Texas.
