Over time, college athletics have gained popularity among the American population. Paying student-athletes to play sports at the collegiate level has been a highly controversial topic and continues to be in today's world. Brief overview/recommendations on how this issue should/needs to be addressed in the future maddisonlesher https://padlet.com/maddisonlesher/7ya7md4unn4zqiyh/wish/1581108945 This issue needs to be addressed as soon as possible to eliminate any poor behavior or public relation stunts from current student-athletes while performing.  A recommendation to show why college athletes should not be paid is creating a graphic of the money the athletic department has, but also creating a graphic of all of the money going out. Another idea is to compare student athletes debt to a normal college student's  debt. This issue also needs to be addressed immediately to communicate to kids that academics are just as important as sports. The NCAA states, "Fewer than 2 percent of NCAA student-athletes go on to be professional athletes. In reality, most student-athletes depend on academics to prepare them for life after college."
