I am a wife, mother, nana, teacher, coach and athlete. I have worked with young children since I was old enough to babysit ranging from childcare, preschools, summer camps, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. I currently teach kindergarten and coach dance and drill and volleyball.

I didn't want to be a teacher because my parents both taught, but it is what I love and I am very passionate about it. So here I am, many years after graduating college, going back to school to become a teacher. I currently teach kindergarten and I hope to stay at this grade.

I know that special education rules and regulations are constantly changing. I also know that referring a student for services can be a very long process with a lot of paperwork.

My parents both taught in special education off and on in their careers so I was exposed to students with different abilities often as a child.

I hope to finish my master's degree within the year. I want to make kindergartners first experience with school a positive one, by instilling in each student a love of learning.

My dream is to travel to Ireland, Germany, Greece and/or Italy some day.
