Space for ADs (Institute and ERD) might get a bit tight. Especially as there are seven ADs and only six desks. Should one of the Deputy offices be removed, now we only have one DCNO and one Director?

I would highly suggest privacy screens as they are an accessibility tool as they help to reduce sight sensory overload and do assist with noise if coupled with noise cancelling headphones.

I'd love to see us using the oportunity of an office reorganisation to bring all 5 acdemies (inlcuding Activism) of the Insitutue onto the same floor - if that could be acheived. Think it'd really help build a sense of cohesion, and foster stronger connections between nursing, activism, and ERD.

the new plan reduces the availability of meeting spaces large enough to accommodate larger teams. the rooms that would be large enough, are prioritised to external booking. What consideration has been made to the increase in expenditure that booking external venues will bring, and will this be x-charged to the facilities budget?

Have the pods been risk assessed?

It strikes me that disabled workers will not be able to make use of these pods because they are not designed with disability in mind. We need to consider how we support staff with reasonable adjustment - an the prioritisation of private space that is NOT a pod for meetings/calls.

this seems not to take into account those staff who spend almost 100% of their time in HQ, of which there are several

there are also very small desk number allocations for large teams, e.g. the library has been allocated 12 desks but there are over 20 people in the team

I also often arrive to desks with cables missing or different methods to attach my laptop which cause confusion/hold up. I would really value these being standardised.

If all desks are becoming hot desks will there be clarity on whether IT or depts are responsible for 'kit' to work at each desk?

There needs to be an approach for disability/adjustments. In principle people can sit anywhere, but in practice if you need a particular chair, or adjusted lights then the assumption is you are always at one desk. Are adjustments forming part of the mapping/plan?

General comments on layout - good to see a replan, it's much needed. I like the idea of neighbourhoods. Great to see heat pumps! Having an overall approach for hybrid working is useful, there are some pockets of staff that are in 90-100% (reception, library) who should be reviewed locally. And I personally prefer lockers to pedestals!

I like that there is more collaborative space. One thing that's important for me is collaborative space to work across directorates, which seems to be accounted for.

I think screens that provide some sound-proofing would is important. I find myself easily distracted when working at a desk and somebody else is having a meeting at the same time.

I think 2 monitors / large monitors are helpful - this is part of the reason I come in now, saving work that requires me to have multiple monitors for my office days.

I think having standing desk options is important.

Ensuring kit is fully functionable - often desks are missing mice / keyboards / wires.

Definitely need 2 screens on desks - can't work without them. Also arriving at a desk that has all the kit set up should be essential. Faffing around trying to connect or locate cables is frustrating and also delays getting the work started!

PRIVACY SCREENS WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. I STRUGGLE WITH NOISE AND GET EASILY DISTRACTED WHEN OTHERS ARE ON CALLS OR CHATTING AROUND ME.

I am not convinced that the toilets should be moved and positioned/accessed through the main corridor. This seems like a costly change to be made that will not really be of a great benefit space wise/cosmetically and financially.

Due to Occupational health reasons, I have a dedicated desktop base in the office and two monitors and a specific chair(Desk 9). I am unable to sit at a desk for laptop use only. Please can this be noted when my desk space is allocated in the new plan
