However, I disagree with this statement. In fact, traditional learning is more effective and reliable compared to online learning.

Arguments (Contra)

Firstly, online learning often reduces students’ concentration. Studying at home can be full of distractions, such as social media or household activities, while traditional classrooms provide a more focused learning environment. When students are in class, the atmosphere is controlled by the teacher, making them more disciplined and less likely to lose focus.

Secondly, face-to-face interaction in traditional learning is essential. Students can directly ask questions, discuss with friends, and receive immediate feedback from teachers. Online platforms cannot fully replace this natural interaction. Direct communication also builds stronger relationships between teachers and students, which can motivate learners to study harder.

Thirdly, not all students have equal access to technology. Poor internet connections, lack of devices, or limited digital skills can make online learning ineffective. On the other hand, traditional learning in schools is more inclusive because it does not depend on technology. Every student has the same opportunity to learn in class without being limited by technical problems.

Reiteration

In conclusion, although online learning offers flexibility, it cannot replace the effectiveness of traditional learning. Classroom learning provides better interaction, discipline, and equal opportunities for all students. Therefore, traditional learning is still better than online learning.

Students can study anytime and anywhere, which allows them to manage their own schedules effectively. Unlike traditional learning, online learning does not force students to follow strict classroom hours.

Second, online learning is more accessible. It helps students from different places, even remote areas, to gain knowledge without the need to travel. This saves both time and money, making education more inclusive for everyone.

Third, online learning provides a variety of resources. Students can access digital books, video tutorials, online libraries, and global platforms. These resources are more diverse and engaging compared to traditional textbooks, making the learning process more effective.

•Reiteration

In short, online learning is better than traditional learning because it is flexible, accessible, and resourceful. I think this idea is reasonable because AI develops very fast and it can perform many tasks that humans usually do.

Arguments

Firstly, AI can work more efficiently than humans. It does not need rest, so it can operate for twenty-four hours without stopping. In addition, AI can reduce human errors because it processes data more accurately.

Secondly, I believe that companies prefer using AI because it saves costs. For example, robots in factories replace human workers in doing repetitive tasks. Moreover, AI can complete dangerous jobs, such as mining or handling hazardous materials, which are risky for human safety.

Thirdly, AI is smarter every year. It learns from data and improves itself. Therefore, many office jobs such as customer service, data entry, and even teaching assistance can be handled by AI systems.

Reiteration

In conclusion, I think AI will replace many human jobs because it is efficient, cost-saving, and continuously improving. Social Media Addiction Is Eroding Face-to-Face Interactions:

Explanation: Social media is designed to keep users watching on screens, which can potentially lead to addiction and make them neglect direct social interactions with family and friends around them. This can reduce the quality and quantity of face-to-face interactions that are important for building strong relationships.

2. Social Comparison Fuels Isolation:

Explanation: Social media users often compare themselves to other people's seemingly "perfect" digitally edited lives. This comparison is often unrealistic and can lead to feelings of dissatisfaction with one's own life, as well as feelings of envy and loneliness due to feeling not on the same level as other people.

3. The Spread of Disinformation Divides Society:

Explanation: Social media has become a suburban area for the spread of false information or hoaxes. This can undermine trust between individuals and deepen social divisions because people tend to flock to groups that hold similar, but unrealistic views, and reject differing views without solid grounds.

Reiteration

Social media creates more isolation than connection. This is caused by addiction which reduces face-to-face interactions, social comparisons which damage self-esteem, and the spread of disinformation which divides society. This impact makes real relationships weaken and feelings of loneliness deepen. Therefore, it is important for us to be wiser in using social media so as not to get caught up in its negative impacts.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will replace Human Jobs (kontra)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that focuses on creating machines or computer programs capable of performing tasks that normally require human intelligence.

Many people argue that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will replace human jobs. However, this opinion is not completely true. Although AI has advanced abilities, there are strong reasons why it cannot fully take over human work.

First, AI lacks creativity. Machines can only work based on the data and algorithms programmed into them. On the other hand, humans are capable of creating new ideas, innovations, and artistic works that cannot simply be replicated by AI.

Second, AI has no empathy or emotions. Jobs that require human feelings, such as teachers, psychologists, doctors, or leaders, cannot be done effectively by machines. Human interaction, compassion, and understanding are essential aspects that AI cannot provide.

Third, AI depends entirely on human programming. If the data or system is wrong, AI will also produce wrong results. In contrast, humans have critical thinking that allows them to evaluate, adapt, and make wise decisions beyond the data given.

In conclusion, although AI can assist humans in many tasks, it cannot fully replace them.

Globalization has become an inevitable phenomenon in the modern era. However, behind its many benefits, globalization also has a negative impact on local culture and traditions.

Globalization, through mass media and the global entertainment industry, introduces and promotes Western lifestyles and values that are often incompatible with local cultures. This leads people, especially the younger generation, to adopt these global trends and abandon their local customs, clothing, and even languages. As a result, traditional values and practices that have been passed down through generations are being eroded.

The standardization of education, often driven by global systems, can diminish the space for local cultural education and local wisdom. Curricula focused on globalization skills often neglect local content such as history, literature, and traditional arts, which are crucial for cultural preservation. This leads to a diminished knowledge and appreciation of ancestral cultural heritage among future generations.

Globalization has also led to the loss of local cultural uniqueness. Many local cultures are losing their uniqueness due to the influence of global culture. This causes local cultures to become less diverse and less rich. The uniqueness of local culture that defines a society's identity is fading away and being replaced by a more homogeneous global culture.

Globalization has also led to the erosion of traditional values. The values of materialism and consumerism brought by globalization have changed people's mindset and behavior. Many traditional values that were once considered important in local societies are being abandoned and replaced by more individualistic and materialistic values.

Therefore, efforts are needed to preserve local culture and traditions. Governments and societies must work together to promote and preserve local culture. This can be done by promoting local culture, holding cultural festivals, and developing local cultural education.

In conclusion, globalization can weaken local culture and traditions. The dominance of global culture, the erosion of traditional values, and the loss of local cultural uniqueness are some of the negative impacts of globalization on local culture. Therefore, efforts are needed to preserve local culture and traditions to maintain the uniqueness and richness of local culture.

Kelompok 7 :

-Alifiyah Nur Salsabillah (03)

-Kerell Celchy Andjana (23)

-Keyla Rahma Dewi (24)

-Tyas Intan Widyaningrum (34)

Globalization Weakends Local Culture and Traditions (Pro)

Thesis

Globalization is an unavoidable phenomenon in the modern era. This process brings interconnectedness between nations through developments in technology, communication, and trade. While globalization offers many benefits in the economic and knowledge sectors, it also has negative impacts. One of the most striking impacts is the weakening of local cultures and traditions, which should serve as a nation's identity and character.

Arguments

First, globalization causes cultural homogenization. People, especially the younger generation, are more frequently exposed to foreign cultures through mass media and social media. As a result, they become more familiar with and admire foreign cultures than their own. Traditions such as regional arts, traditional ceremonies, and local languages are being abandoned as they are deemed less relevant to current developments.

Second, globalization strengthens the dominance of foreign products. International fast food, fashion, and entertainment products are crowding out traditional products. For example, regional specialties are often replaced by global fast food restaurants, which are considered more practical and prestigious. This not only diminishes public interest in traditional cuisine but also threatens the sustainability of local businesses.

Third, globalization also influences the value system within society. The values of mutual cooperation, togetherness, and local wisdom are beginning to be eroded by the individualistic and consumerist mindset brought about by global culture. This shift in values has the potential to weaken the social bonds that have long been the strength of Indonesian society.

Reiteration

In conclusion, globalization does bring various benefits, but its impact on local culture and traditions cannot be underestimated. National identity can be eroded if the younger generation prefers foreign cultures over preserving the heritage of their ancestors. Therefore, it is crucial for the community and government to work together to preserve and develop local culture so that it can survive amidst the rapid flow of globalization.

Kelompok 8:

1. However, this statement is not completely true. In fact, globalization can strengthen local identity, give wider recognition, and provide new ways to preserve traditions.

Arguments

First, globalization promotes local culture worldwide. Through social media, tourism, and international trade, traditional food, clothing, and art can be introduced to a global audience. For example, batik from Indonesia or yoga from India have become well-known across the world.

Second, cultural exchange actually strengthens people’s appreciation of their own heritage. When people are exposed to foreign cultures, they often realize the uniqueness of their own traditions. This awareness motivates them to protect and preserve what they have.

Third, globalization encourages creativity and innovation. Traditions are not static; they can be combined with modern influences to remain relevant for young generations. For instance, traditional music can be mixed with modern instruments to attract more listeners without losing its cultural roots.

Finally, globalization does not destroy local culture but provides tools for adaptation. A tradition that adapts will survive and even thrive in the global era. Thus, globalization should be seen as a chance for cultural growth, not as a threat.

Reiteration

In conclusion, globalization does not necessarily weaken local culture and traditions. On the contrary, it creates opportunities for preservation, innovation, and international recognition. Therefore, instead of rejecting globalization, we should use it wisely to strengthen our cultural identity.
