1. Is equality between men and women enshrined inourConstitution?

The Greek Constitution of 1975 enshrines, under Article 4(2) , the equality of Greeks and Greek women in terms of their rights and obligations.

This article states that "Greeks and Greek women have equal rights and obligations."

It is therefore forbidden to create unequal situations and to differentiate the content of the individual rights and obligations of citizens, both between themselves and in their relationship with the State, based on the gender difference. This article also requires equal opportunities for both sexes to develop their personality and their free participation in social life.

2. Under the revised Article 116 : "There is no discrimination on grounds of sex to take positive measures to promote equality between men and women. The State shall ensure that the inequalities in practice, in particular against women, are eliminated ".
