Hits 93 Toronto, Canada’s most followed radio station, has shut down their planned K-Pop hour due to some vocal fans.The radio station wanted to help promote both well-known and smaller K-Pop artists in their region. However, due to a mass outcry from some ARMYs, the station decided not to hold their K-Pop hour.Some ARMYs said other artists would be taking advantage of BTS’s hard work in promoting in North America.They thought the artists that Hits 93 Toronto would be playing on their station would be getting a “free ride” into breaking into North America.
Because of this, no K-Pop artists will have their songs played on the radio station any time soon.

On January 28, the '60th Annual Grammy Awards' took place at Madison Square Garden in New York. During the event, a Memoriam montage paying tribute to artists who passed away in 2017 was shared. Unfortunately, SHINee fans noticed the Grammys left out the late Jonghyun. Many vented out their frustration and disappointment on social media, stating, "We should talk about the disrespect from the Grammys for not adding Jonghyun in the In Memoriam list", "Jonghyun deserved to be included in the in memoriam at the grammys", "The grammys couldn't even take one moment to honor Jonghyun during the in memoriam.. really gross and pathetic of them." Fans claim Jonghyun deserved recognition in the Memoriam considering his significance in K-Pop, and also because a suicide prevention performance took place right after the Memoriam.
