إِنَّ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَهْدِي لِلَّتِي هِيَ أَقْوَمُ وَيُبَشِّرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَبِيرًا

“Indeed, this, the Quran, guides to that which (is) most straight and gives glad tidings to the believers – those who do the righteous deeds, that for them (is) a reward great.” (Surah Al-Isra` 17:9)

- The differences between Islam, Iman and Ihsan:

Islam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to perform prayers, to give zakaah, to fast in Ramadan and to make the pilqrimage to the House if you are able to do so.

Iman is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers and the Last Day, and to believe in devine destiny (qadr), both the good and the evil of it.

Ihsan is to worship Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then (knowing that) truly He sees you.

- The signs of the Hereafter:

That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see barefooted, naked destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings.

Islam as the practical parts, Iman as the faith and belief of the rewards and goodness, Ihsan as the quality and steadfastness.

The purposes of Allah sending prophets and messengers are:

1. For humanity to believe in Allah.

2. To believe in the truth conveyed by the prophets.

3. To deliver monotheism without adding or subtracting.

The importance of believing in the prophets includes:

• Guiding humanity to the right path

• Proof that every life has tests

• No excuses on the Day of Judgment; means we cannot claim ignorance about Islam, as they conveyed the message to us.

• Messengers of Allah for belief in the unseen

• Role models for humanity

The miracles granted by Allah include:

• Allah removed fear from the prophets

• Allah granted the entire earth to Muslims

• Allah permitted the taking of war booty during the time of the prophets

The traits that can be practiced by humans:

• Gratitude

• Tolerance

• Repentance

• Moderation

• Equality

• Patience

• Humanity

• Accountability

Believe in Hereafter Day

- Humans will be questioned; if they do good, their place is in paradise, and if they do evil, their place is in hell.

- Belief in this is obligatory for Muslims.

- Therefore, we must be cautious in committing sins, as we are aware of the consequences we may face.

- This serves as motivation for Muslims to seek rewards.

- Let us be patient in facing the trials from Allah.

Believe in Qada' & Qadar

- Knowledge (we know that Allah is all-knowing).

- Qadar (destiny) and qodo' (decree) have already been written.

- Everything happens by the will of Allah.

- Allah created all that is in the earth.

The advantages of belief in point form:

1. Soothes the soul and mind.

2. Reduces worry about things that have not yet happened or that have already occurred.

3. Provides strength to face trials.

4. Cultivates humility before Allah.

5. Encourages dependence on Allah.

6. Helps avoid bad deeds.

7. Increases good practices.

- Practice good manners; reflects a person's personality.

Adab to Parents:

- Do not use harsh language.

- Referencing the story of Prophet Ibrahim; Surah Maryam, verses 41-45.

Conclusion:

- Even if parents do not treat us well, we should still speak gently.

- Be humble.

- Always pray for them.

Adab to Friends:

- Share with one another.

- Always wear a cheerful expression.

- Forgive one another.

- Avoid mocking.

- Do not whisper.

• When someone believes in Allah strongly, he reflects on the fact that the Compassionate Creator is present and watching, and does not seek for the attention of other than Him, and he thinks that turning to other than Him and seeking help from other than Him is at odds with proper courtesy towards that status of Ihsan.

2. Ikhlas

• Because of the pressures of people, we may forget Allah and start acting to please them.

• Yet, Allāh’s pleasure must be at the basis of our deeds. If He is pleased, the shunning of the entire world is of no importance.

3. Following the Sunnah

• To follow the sunnah recalls the Noble Messenger (SAW) directly, and such recollection is transformed into recollection of the divine presence (ihsan), even though the observance of

  sunnah in eating, drinking or sleeping.

4. Solat

“Solat is the mi’raj of a believer”

(Hadith)

The doa of “Attahiyyatu..” is the

conversation between Allah (SWT),

Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Gabriel

(AS) and malaikah. While reciting

this doa at the solat, we can recall

that conversation and again we can

feel that we are at the presence of

Allah.

Eschatology is the study of last things or end times, focusing on concepts related to death, judgment, the afterlife, and the ultimate destiny of humanity and the world.

1. Existence and Oneness: Muslims believe that Allah is the one and only God, who is unique and has no partners.

2. Attributes of Allah: Believers acknowledge Allah’s attributes, such as being merciful, all-knowing, and all-powerful.

3. Guidance and Worship: Belief in Allah encourages adherence to His guidance, expressed through the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Belief in Malaikah

1. Nature of Angels: Angels are beings that do not possess free will; they obey Allah's commands without question.

2. Roles of Angels: They perform various functions, such as conveying revelations to the prophets, protecting and guiding humans, and recording deeds.

3. Connection to Faith: Believing in angels strengthens one’s faith and understanding of the unseen aspects of existence.

Belief in Kitab

1. Nature of the Scriptures: The scriptures include the Quran, which is the final and most comprehensive revelation, as well as earlier scriptures such as the Torah (Tawrat), Psalms (Zabur), and Gospel (Injil).

2. Purpose: These revelations serve to guide individuals and communities in their spiritual, moral, and social lives.

3. Respect for Previous Scriptures: Muslims believe that while the earlier scriptures contained divine guidance, the Quran is the ultimate and unaltered message.

Surah Al-Ma'idah (Chapter 5):

"Indeed, We sent Our messengers with clear signs and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain [therein] justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is strong material, as well as many benefits for people..."

Surah At-Tawbah: 103 - commands the Prophet to collect charity (Zakat) to purify and bless the believers, bringing them spiritual growth and Allah’s mercy.

This verse highlights the importance to pay zakat to the eight eligible categories mentioned in Surah At-Tawbah: 60. And it's an act to purify wealth, help those in need, and strengthen social equality.

Surah Al-Baqarah: 197 - instructs that during Hajj, one should maintain moral conduct, avoid sinful behaviors and prioritize righteousness as it is the best provision for the journey.

This verse highlights the importance to perform hajj and prevent bad deeds to make sure get Allah's grace.

Surah Luqman:12-19 - This verse highlights Luqman advises his son to be grateful to Allah, avoid associating partners with Him, honor and respect parents, establish prayer, uphold righteousness, be patient, remain humble, and act with moderation and respect towards others.

• It is inclusive of all acts of giving and donation such as zakah, infaq and waqf
