His academic journey reflects a deep commitment to sustainable systems, holding a B.S. in Agricultural Science and a Master of Science in Agriculture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, alongside an M.S. in Natural Resources for Conservation and Leadership from the University of Wisconsin. Currently, Cesar is conducting doctoral research through the University of Massachusetts while simultaneously completing advanced degrees in Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Secondary Science Education.

In the classroom, Cesar translates complex ecological theories into practice as a high school agricultural instructor and a part-time faculty member in Plant Science at College of the Desert. As a Certified Floral Designer with a professional background in high-end hospitality management, he views food production and botany through a unique lens: a masterclass in resource efficiency and culinary chemistry. Cesar’s mission is to help our food and horticulture systems transition away from fossil fuel dependence toward ecologically responsible solutions that ensure a healthier, safer future for all.

Christy enjoys learning. Her educational journey took longer than expected, but she is beginning to reep the rewards of her dedication and hard work. From the time she started her formal education, she has attended ten colleges and universities in two states.

During her longest time away from attending college courses, Christy raised her four children and often coached them in soccer, softball, baseball, track, and football. She enjoys spending time with them or speaking to them on the phone. She is the proud aunt of 25 nieces and nephews and loves the many family events.
