AP Research

Taking AP Research allowed me to experience what it is like working on a long term research paper is like. Reading existing bodies of literature, creating my own research question, and executing my own research project to write a 5000 word research paper gave me a new perspective on writing beyond very traditional essay or novel writing.

A particular teacher in high school has impacted my life beyond words and has helped me grow into a better person. I have learned a lot over the past year about how much education and teachers have meant in my life, and I want to continue the legacy of all the great teachers I have had in my life.

I have leadership skills from being the captain of many sports teams and being a leader inside the classroom. I can be a leader in multiple ways by working with others in many different roles. I am able to lead by example, give directions, or follow another persons lead.

I am very authentic in the way I communicate with others, and I am able to offer honest and constructive feedback. For example, I was on a committee to help decide who our senior speaker was going to be at graduation in high school.

I manage to walk a fine line between open minded and stubborn. In some ways, many people around me would tell you that I am very stubborn, very driven, but also open minded. I think through many different ways of doing things, and will examine multiple perspectives, but I will never give up on something that I am passionate about.
