Documentary of Mermaids- the aquatic ape hypothesis. It's a documentary of scientist and doctors on an expedition being forced to not put this out there as it's classified information. Talks about the navy covering stuff up that's washing up on the shore, with many different sources and reports. This video has numerous red flags as it's an hour and a half long. Red flag #1 appeal to authority example is the Doctors, Scientist, navy seals, and the fact it was aired on Animal Planet. Animal Planet being known for stating facts not fiction. Secondly, proof of verbosity large amount of apparent evidence with no chance to question it just bring you straight to the next piece of evidence. Thirdly, Conformation bias example remember sighting from previews years. Evidence of weapon that mermaid uses as defense against predator's under sea. Lastly, Red herring the doctors discuss one subject and then the next bring you back to the same topic but not stating facts. As said in the last bit of the video " scientist aren't allowed believing in myth's but his a scientist that believes it is in fact a mermaid.

Footage of an unknown animal that looks as though it is a mermaid caught on a x-ray video of some sort. Red flags I've identified in this video would be appeal to authority where the two scientist talk about their discovery in this expedition of the coast of Greenland. Red herring would be another one where the person doing the interview talking about a brand on oil drilling after this video had been taken. Why some people would believe this would be agenticity the idea of conspiracy that the Greenland government is involved in covering this up and not wanting this video public. Also, Ideology the individual already has the belief that mermaids are among us. An emotional connection would also be a reason for believe in this video as the scientist explains how he felt in that moment, " I felt as though I was among one of our own." As though we are the same because mermaids are known to be half human and half fish. Perception and observation that is at hand in this video is it looks every real the footage of the x-ray mermaid I even believe it

This video I've chosen is about 5 mermaids that have been seen or discovered by people. It points out the hoax that people say as well as the believe that some people see. I don't feel this video has any red flags or reason for believe as the man who is identifying the images and video clearly states the reason individual's believe and why some don't. I chose this video to identify that not all videos have red flag and some are educational leaving you to decide your own believe.

Ancient belief's as well as tales of Mermaids from 4,000 years ago. Starting with Ea, the god of the sea, to the 19th century. Red flags aren't in this article just a bunch of stories from centuries ago. Reasons for believe is the ideology of the idea. Example " Tom Hanks, movie Splash". The article refers to at the very end.

This image appeals to the reason for believe ideology term. It's a reflect of a persons image of what the person believes a mermaid would appear to look like. The myth that their known to sit on rocks in the ocean to lure the sailor's to their death. I feel this strongly appeals to that believe as the was the first thing I thought of when I first seen this image on google.ca.

This image looks as though someone is helping a mermaid out of the ocean to take care of as if the mermaid is hurt. Although, after finding this image on google and reading the article which is about someone filming a mermaid movie. I still chose this image as I feel a lot of the mermaid stuff I have found was not real or conspiracy of the believe in the myth but rather theatre or acting positions. I still believe this image can relate to a lot of the content in the course as I feel this image shows how easy it is for someone to make a spotting of a mermaid look so real, with makeup the correct computer graphics as well as how easy it is to get this material now a days.

This image I feel appeals to authority as to looks as though a scientist has uncovered this skeleton of a mermaid. Reasons for believe emotional connection as it looks as if it could been a family member or friend. Your more likely to relate to this in a more sensitive way. So, in draws you in to believing it's real.
