I have decided to retire at the end of this month Dec 31/20. Working remotely has been a challenge for me otherwise I would have continued until my last breathe. It has been an honor and a privilege to have worked with you all. Was a great teamwork. If I have hurt you in anyway please forgive me. If I have missed anyone it is not intentional. Just to begin, my name is Patrick Rhooms. I played a big role in Amin's work life with the City of Toronto. I worked with him briefly at the Province in 2000 and after that, I was hired at the city of Toronto. On day one, I told my boss that there is one person we want on our team and that has to be Amin Nasser. With that said, he was hired even without an interview.

He has been my right hand ever since. We have worked closely as a team for the past 18 years and not once since then, have we had any disagreement.

He would drop whatever he is doing just to lend a hand whenever it is needed. He is my backup whenever I am away from the office and when I get back, he would have everything completed.

I recall being away from the office for 7 months and when I returned, Amin had everting covered in my absence. He has been there for me when I had deaths in my family. I will truly miss him and I have told him this as well.

He sends out daily jokes and other emails he receives just to brighten our day at work. I will miss those too.

My current lead Mona went on to the extent of saying if not for the pandemic she would organize a parade for Amin. We have all learnt a great deal from Amin, not just about work but how we could lead our life as an example of such humility. I guess that really rubs off the entire Amin Nasser family!

Just to let you understand the extent of his broad association, I would like to point out that you in fact had contacted someone from "Burlington" to get your message across. That clearly shows that not only did City of Toronto able to get the best of Amin but other municipalities as well.

Amin is very humble and avoids any and all exposure/ showoff, as such it was hard to locate photos of him ( He is always a silent participant).

Hope you will continue to keep sending these pictures of your lovely grandkids continuing to grow. And the most important lesson to take is that we can never plan what we want, but God would always provide what we need. But I really wish for you to take this opportunity to plan to have and spend some real enjoyment with these kids in person. Once they grow up they would have their own agendas and we/ grandparents would always be just another ritual.

As far as I know, you have only one daughter and two grandkids, please try to be with them when time permits. Hopefully, the vaccine would give an opportunity to travel freely without restriction like before and forget about work for a while.

You are the real pulse of the court that I know! Though we will dearly miss you I am sure there must be something more important you must attend to! We will keep in touch.
