Tribal in India are also protected under the PESA Act that was in acted on December 24, 1996 to enable tribal self rule in these areas.

Article 46 of the Constitution provides that the State shall promote with special care the educational and economic interests of the weaker sections of the society and in particular, of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and shall protect them from social injustice and all forms of exploitation.

They also kill wild animals with their bows and arrows for example-wild boars,pigs,chicken etc.

They also gather fruits, wild roots, tubers and honey.

A study of their nutrition and health found their ‘nutritional status’ was ‘optimal’.

Their present number is 250-400 individuales which is very close to their extinction.
The language they speak is Ongan language.

1) The Jarawa tribe people live in Andaman and Nicobar islands for more than 2 millenia's ( millenia- A period of thousand years ).

2) The road that cuts through their territory brings thousands of outsiders, including tourists, into their land. Most tourists treat the Jarawa like animas in a safari park.

3)The jarawa tribe are afraid from "the outside people" because they abuse them.

Some of them collect clothes not for the purpose of wearing them, but to make ornaments from the threads.

Ornaments of the Jarawas are divided into two types- permanent and temporary.
Permanent- Made out of shell and cotton threads or wool. 
Temporary- Made out of flowers, fruits and tender seasonal leaves. (mostly named after the plants from which the materials are collected)

The Jarawas, both men and women of all age groups, decorate their face and body with clay.
