DiGiCo are currently seeking a young person to join them as a Graduate Apprentice in Engineering, Design and Manufacturing.

The role is based in Glenrothes with a starting salary of £25,000.

DiGiCo are offering this exciting opportunity to join their team and provide support to the production team and R&D teams for New Product Introduction.

The successful candidate will also spend one day per week studying towards their honours degree in Engineering, Design and Manufacturing at the University of Dundee.

“London was a trip of a lifetime.  On the first day we were lucky enough to see ‘Wicked’ in the West End and it was such a fantastic experience with incredible singers and actors.  The next day we visited the UK Parliament which had great architecture.  The iconic Big Ben tower stood tall as we walked around the parliament, the historic interior was amazing.  We also went on the London Eye which has stunning views of London’s skyline.  On the third day we explored the Imperial War Museum which was both educational and moving.  We also went to Covent Garden which was filled with amazing food restaurants and high-end fashion retailers.  The day ended with an eerie Jack the Ripper Walking tour and a boat ride home along the Thames. On the last day we went to Camden Market which was buzzing with people and had great food places.  We had quite a few trips on the Tube while we were in London  and it was certainly an experience!  Every moment of this trip was filled with excitement and new experiences that I am sure everyone will cherish forever.” – Megan, Carla, Lauren & Aisha (S5)

In terms of our planning for next session we are incorporating the feedback from our recent Collaborative Improvement Visit into this. In particular, we will have a priority focus on Learning and Teaching next session with a re-launch of our learning and teaching framework. This framework is currently going through various stages of consultation that has included staff, learners and parents/carers. Huge thank you to everyone that has contributed to this consultation so far, including those that came in for our recent “T with the HT” sessions last week. All feedback gathered is extremely valuable and is allowing us to shape the direction of our learning and teaching with everyone’s voice having been included. The final version of our Collaborative Improvement Report is currently being finalised and will be issued to parents/carers as soon as is available.  

I hope that your learners have had a positive exam diet and found our new Study Days as a supportive addition and, or, are settling in well to new routines with teachers across their new timetables.

On the day teams completed in Hose and Ladder skills, combined drills and enjoyed a BBQ from Scott Brothers.
The challenge day weas part of wider engagement with Balmossie firefighters who have worked with teams, mentoring the young people, building confidence, and demonstrate teamwork and community spirit.
