In this experiment, the scientist presented apes and children with a translucent puzzle box, and added unnecessary steps in opening it. They found that the apes ignored these excess steps, and the children adopted them in the process of opening the box.
This shows how psychology is a science as they were testing the natural world. They came to the conclusion that children are more willing to learn than apes, who tend to invent their own ways.

Psychologists conducted an experiment in which a child could choose to eat either a single gummy bear now, or receive more gummy bears later. Each child would choose to eat the singular gummy bear. They found a correlation, between the child's ability to resist impulses and their SAT score years later. This shows that psychology is science, as they conducted a systematic experiment and came to a conclusion by the end about humans, who are apart of the natural world.

Do Apes Even Lift Bro?

In an experiment that required apes to work together to lift a rock in order to obtain food, apes unable to work together, but could be taught by humans. This was a systematic study because the scientist changed the situations as new revelations developed during the process by adding on weight to the stone, as well as changing the amount of apes there to help each other. However, this factor did not increase their capacity to work together and remove the stone.

Scientists conducted multiple hands-off experiment simply by observing apes in their natural habitat. They found that apes made primitive spears in order to kill "bush babies" living in trees. This redefined what was previously known about an ape's intelligence, making them one o the only non-humans to create and use tools. It called into question of how refined their problem-solving skills are. This shows how Psychology is a science because the team of researchers studied the apes in their natural habitat.

A experiment was conducted on three and four-year-olds to see if the could empathize with others. They prompted with a doll who put her ball and one container, and had it switched without her knowing. The three-year-olds were unable to understand where Sally might look for her ball, while the four-year-olds could see that she would search in the wring place. This was a psychological experiment, and shows that Psychology is a science because it tested the nature of children's minds, in the physical world.
