After almost completing the course, I could say that along this semester, it has helped me understand educational technology better. It sparks my interest to keep on learning topics related to educational technology.

First example which had sparked my interest in educational technology is during learning topic "Visual Message Design" which this topic emphasizes on guidelines to have a presentation. Since student and future teacher like me would needed to create slides presentations in future, so this guides are important for me to ensure that I would be able to have an effective presentations.

Video attached below is a major throwback when we still able to attend classes in UPM earlier this year :( We were asked to bring kain sarong/pelekat during one of the earliest tutorial class with Dr Mas Nida. We can't stop thinking of what exactly are we going to do with the kain but we are all excited that day. We were instructed to use kain sarong/pelekat during teaching and learning process in classes. We needed to be creative! And the instruction was somewhat kinda shocked us all since we had never imagined of using kain sarong/pelekat during classes. This had taught us one thing which is to always be creative to make the whole teaching and learning process becomes interesting. And yes, this video is an example where my classmates and I, really having fun :P

4. Rubrics:)

(i) A rubric is typically an evaluation tool or set of guidelines used to promote the consistent application of learning expectations, learning objectives, or learning standards in the classroom, or to measure their attainment against a consistent set of criteria.
(ii) As a student, rubrics are important to ensure that we are following all the scoring guidelines in order for us to be able to obtain higher marks. Every assignment contains different kind of assessments which there would be different elements that are going to be evaluated. So in order to obtain good marks, rubrics are important and needed to help in guiding students.
(iii) Depending too much on the rubrics scheme would not allow students to explore bigger. Since students would overly depending on the rubrics itself, it would prevent students to do or to give more than what were stated in the rubrics. Students would think if they had met with the minimum requirement based on the rubrics, then it is enough. No need to add any other elements since they know that they are going to get highest marks since they are following all the guidelines in the rubrics.
4. Rubrics are only relevant to be seen as a guidelines for both students and teachers. If there are no rubrics, how can a teacher for example able to evaluate and grade the students? And for students, if there were no rubrics, they would simply make an assignment without having guidelines on how to complete certain assignment. Rubrics should be seen solely as a guidelines. Not as a ticket for both teachers and students to depend too much on it.

5. Online Learning Experience:)

(i) When UPM asked to complete 2 weeks before Eid break, this course is among the earliest courses that had online learning. I guess it was a new experience for both lecturer and students since we had stopped all teaching and learning process physically since mid March 2020. But I think for this educational technology course which the lecturer herself was a very tech savvy one, it was quite fast for her to create one online classes and to moderate the whole process which honestly I am impressed since I am not sure if I were to attend such situation, I am able to do well. It was quite hard at first since this are the new method of learning but within times, I guess both lecturer and students able to adapt well in the situation until now we almost completed the semester.
(ii) Main challenges that I think would affect the biggest are the stability of internet connection. Online learning means strong internet connection needed. And I believe many students not only for this course and campus, but for all students around Malaysia facing the same challenges. Video type of online learning requires a very stable and strong internet connection which it is impossible since even though it is 2020, but many places still are not equipped with a full speed of internet coverage. The second main challenges would be, it is hard to stay focus during online classes for a very long time especially like how we did in physical classes. There were so many distractions from siblings and even sometimes from pets. It is really hard to stay focus and be seated for a long time when you are at home.
3. I first thought that learning through Whatsapp is easy since everyone already had their own application and account and since Whatsapp did not require a really stable or strong internet connection hence still we received the texts. BUT, one problem arises when some people received the texts quite late rather than anyone else which make the instructions become redundant. For instance, lecturer had instructed for a no reply but then someone still replied after her instruction which proved that someone is receiving/sending late. Next, learning without having any prior knowledge or just simply depending on a text, is disaster. Based on the text instruction, we are required to draw a Narwhal. And based on the text, we imagined and drew our own version of Narwhal which majority of us could not get it right since different students, different understanding. This had proven the Dale's Cone of Experience which students could never learn better if a teacher only depends on written texts.

Augmented Reality (AR)
One thing that I assumed was very compulsory here is when I learned about AR. I learned about how to make traditional way of learning turned into a very tech savvy method of learning which would suits with current generation that are really into technology. As a future teaching, learning educational technology able to help me to improve myself to a better version of teacher. And this topic had taught me that in order to make the whole teaching and learning process interesting, there should be space to include the usage of technology into that specific process.
