Samaria was in a famine, so they had no food or water. God told Elijah to approach Ahab, and he promised rain if he did. Obadiah was keeping the prophets of the real God, because Jezebel was killing all the prophets. Elijah asks Obadiah to tell Ahab to meet Elijah, he hesitated, then agreed. When Elijah met with Ahab, he told him to bring all his prophets, and Elijah brings himself, as he is the only prophet, and to bring a bull of choice. They brought it to the mountain, cut it in pieces and put it on the altar. They had to pray to their God, and which ever God answered with fire, he is real. The Baal worshippers started to dance around, slashing themselves, and chanting to their God, but he did not answer. Elijah got 12 stones, that represent Israel, drenched them in water and started to pray to God. Then, the fire of the Lord fell and burned the up the altar. He showed everyone that their believing a fake God and they should only believe in one God.
