The poem tells about how the government is not aware, being ignorant of the public’s needs which then benefit the opposition by taking advantage of the public wants and caused the people to be confused and disorganised. A lot effort has been done so that they are able to speak up for the mistreatment they’ve faced by trying to clear up the ban of freedom of speech. The poet also tells how the workers work hard and expect something in return from the government. Even for common job worker such as the petrol workers are attentatively waiting only for the good news to be told. The poet also tells how its only a matter of time until the government are being surrounded and surrender provided that everyone are working together with one another to stand up.

Implicit

The implicit meaning of the poem can be understood as the public rights, needs are being neglected, ignored by the government as the citizen of their own country. How the public’s rights to voice out their opinion was not available. Just because they are seen as the lowest, no power to speak upright for justice with ofcourse limitation. Such as restrictions of loosening the noose around newspaper where they tried to voice out through the newspaper but eventually unsuccessful. The workers are being overworked by the government and they had high expectations from the government to treat the workers better but it turns out, the government was not even concerned with what the public was facing and only wanted the results of their action. Such as, it said our rope of days was stretched taut with high expectancy. Even fir the common people, they wish for a change in their country for a better future. It can also be understand where the people of the country wants to fight for the justice that these people deserves so that they do not wish to suffer anymore in the future.
