         <title>Biography on Thomas Paine</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Thomas Paine was born on January 29, 1737 in Thetford, England. He also grew up there. He went to school at Thetford Grammar School. He had just enough to master reading, writing, and arithmetic until he failed and quit at age 12. Thomas married twice. First He married Mary  Lambert. She dies when giving birth to a child, but he still works as an excise officer. In 1771 he married Elizabeth Ollive. He separates with his wife. He was unsuccessful or unhappy with every job he tried. In 1774 Thomas met Benjamin Franklin in London who gave him <em>Letters of Recommendation</em>. After that Thomas published <em>Common Sense</em> on January 10, 1776. In 1791 he publishes <em>The Rights of Man</em>. In 1794 Thomas publishes <em>The Age of Reason</em>. On June 8, 1809 Thomas dies because of his health. He died in Greenwich Village, New York, NY. Thomas Paine was buried in New Rochelle.</div>]]></description>

In 1791 he publishes <em>The Rights of Man.</em><br><em>The Age of Reason</em> was published in 1994. He published many more articals and newspapers.</div>]]></description>

This influenced people to become independent from Britain. <em>Common Sense </em>helped people realize that they were being controlled by Britain.
