I am mainly taking internships at HKVTC Shop. This is also my first internship experience; I experienced different working positions in this online shop, and I also expect that I can learn some practical and basic working knowledge in this internship. Before I started interning at HKVTC Shop, I was a bit worried about how to get along with my supervisor and the difficulties I encounter in my work. However, during the internship, I realized that the work in the workplace was not as difficult as I had imagined, and I also discovered some of my weaknesses during the internship. Meanwhile, I learned some basic working skills about inventory management.

Description of the workplace training

In first day of internship, I was assigned to the social media team in HKVTC Shop, and my supervisor introduced us to the working section in the morning. My first task was to choose a product in the HKVTC shop to make a promotional post in the afternoon, and then the supervisor gave feedback to me on the second day of the internship. In the early stage, my internship routine working task was to write some social media copy and create some promotional posts in the social media team until 20^th September. After interning in the social media team for some time, I was moved to the small warehouse on the third floor, and I was responsible for counting the number of different types of products, checking if the product is missing or damaged with my partner and preparing the corresponding materials according to the orders received in HKVTC Shop. In addition, sometimes, I need to conduct some product packaging with my partner and transport sorted materials from the warehouse to the delivery truck.

Through participating in the internship at HKVTC shop, I learned some knowledge and experience and my skills have been improved in some aspects. These include my communication and problem-solving skills. The following is the progress I made during my internship. We need to promote some products through social media posts, and some users will leave comments under the posts. At the same time, we will reply to customers' comments and if users are interested in our products, we will communicate with them further. In addition, sometimes our supervisor will let us choose some items on Taobao as souvenirs for school activities. At the end, we also need to report to our supervisor about the product we selected and explain the reasons for choosing these as souvenirs for school. My communication skills have also improved as I constantly interact with users and report to supervisors. And then, our supervisor transferred us to work in the warehouse. I need to work with my other partner to count the inventory and check the product quality and whether there is any damage. I also learned how to cooperate and coordinate with others to complete the work. However, sometimes when my partner and I are conducting inventory checks and maintenance, we sometimes find that products are damaged, and the quantity of products is different from the quantity purchased. And then we will report the damage to the product to our supervisor. And sometimes when the actual quantity does not match the purchase quantity, we use label paper to mark which box of products has a shortage of quantity or quality.

After completing the internship, I have overcome many challenges. However, the one that left the most impression on me was when our supervisor assigned us a heavy workload one day. The task is to count all the graduation bears in the warehouse and separate them into bears with blue neckties and bears with red neckties. At the same time, we also need to check if the graduation bear is damaged and if there are any shortages of materials in the booth prepared for graduation ceremony. This is a big challenge for me and the other partners who are just starting their internships. However, we will first communicate and coordinate with each other, then divide the work and explain the corresponding solutions for different situations, for example, when a damaged graduation bear appears, we will pick it up and put it in a box, to distinguish which graduation bears have problems and which do not. Finally, the task was successfully completed. In this experience, I learned that communication and coordination among teams are very important in both learning and working in the workplace.

The overall experience of this internship was very important and valuable to me, and it also helped me discover my strengths and weaknesses in communication, which also gave me some new insights into the workplace. When our supervisor asked me to present the product I chose as a graduation souvenir, I could simply express the reason why I chose this product as a graduation souvenir, but sometimes I may not be able to express what I want to express, which may cause the supervisor to misunderstand my intention. It may take a long time to explain clearly. This is also what I found out about my strengths and weaknesses in communication after this internship. In addition, in this internship, I realized that teamwork and interpersonal relationships are also very important in the workplace, because good teamwork and interpersonal relationships can complete the work more efficiently and facilitate communication and coordination.
