Even though it was fictional, I think Jackie Brown wrote it well and I think it would be realistic fiction though rather than fiction. (My parents went through similar events as Kia and them) I wouldn't recommend it to my friends because they're not interested in these kind of books (They like comics and anime stuff a lot). Kia and her family was living happily until soldiers came and destroyed their village. The men was forced to go with the soldiers while the women, kids, and elders were left behind. I chose this quote because it was when the soldiers came and invaded Kia's village. It has to do with the book because it all began their journey escaping Laos.
