Hi everyone! My name is Mariah Huerta and I live in the Sacramento area. This is my second year at Pacific Oaks. I currently am working towards my bachelors in Early Childhood Development. I would like to teach grades 4-5 and eventually move over to special education.

Prior to my current job, I was a dental assistant. I had fun, but I wanted more excitement. I love what I do as a behavior technician. I work with students with disabilities and they definitely keep me on my toes. This is what helped me realize my love for teaching. I am also a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served 7 1/2 years.

I have a husband and together we have a 5 year old daughter and an 8 month old son. Family time is very important to us. We enjoy going to parks, getting frozen yogurt, going to farmers markets, and really just about anything that gets us out of the house.
