 the nobility were separated into pums. (6 dupum, 5 dupum, 4 dupum.) 4 dupum had the least power and was considered the lowest of the nobilities.

under the nobility were peasants, most of which whom farm.

there were slaves, but they were mostly only owned by the jingol. Records say that the jingol owned about 3000 slaves, which were probably exaggerated, but still a large quantity.

is very homogenous, mostly ethnically koreans.

women were mostly equal with men, because they were involved with governing. i.e. queen seonduk. silla fought a war with baekjae and gogureo to gain full control of korea.

silla was tributary to china, more specifically the jin. (chin?)
there are records of silla bringing tributes to the jin and bukjae.

silla fell because of constant peasant uprisings. silla was at the brink of a civil war, and the king had no actual power. The higher noble families basically had the most power. Silla was finally overthrown at 935, when goryeo was established.

You can see this in the names of Kings and Queens, who adopted buddhist names. There are also buddhist stone figures and carvings in namsan.

hoguk buddhism, or hoguk bulgyo, was a solely korean interpretation of buddhism which impacted silla greatly. It was an idea that citizens should fight against all threatening forces from outside the nation and guard their country.

jangbogo is a notable historical figure who played a great part in trading. When pirates roamed the sea, blocking trading paths and kidnapping silla merchants and selling them as slaves, jangbogo installed the chunghaejin, a closed off camp to fight off pirates. The chunghaejin later turned into an open trading camp for everyone. It became one of the most busy trading sites in east asia.

Afterwards, he made these chungja's in his chunghaejin, then sold it to other countries. This developed into the famous goryeo chungja later on.

a long spear called jangchangdang was a weapon held by 3-6 people lined up.

suk gul am was a manmade cave made for praying to buddha.
