The pace of this book is perfect. It is not too slow and not too fast. The book is about DNA coding so it might be confusing for some people, but I loved it. I would definitely read this book if you are into science fiction and are looking for a challenge.

The characters in this book feel so real. They are not perfect and have real world problems. The characters in this book are so easy to like. All of the characters in the book are dynamic, everyone changes so much.

The plot of this book is great. I could have never seen the outcome of the book coming. The plot flows well and is at a good pase. I can’t wait for the second book to come out.

In conclusion this book is a great book with lovable characters and a unexpecting plot. If you like science fiction and post apocalyptic settings this you be the book for you.

    Dante and Aristotle friendship slowly grew into something more.This story was so romantic, true to life and dramatic. The moving tale of the two young teens made me want to read the story over and over again.

One of the main reasons I love is the structure. Nothing is rushed and everything has its own place in the story. Every event that happens I feel like it had its place in the story, like it wouldn't be complete without that event. 

I also love the theme throughout the entire series. The theme in my opinion stays the same. One thing I noticed throughout the series is events are back to back which is both good and bad.

Overall I think Red Queen and the series is definitely worth the read. It will not bore you for one second!

Olive Olson 3rd hour

 The book was about a girl named Mare who struggled to find her way through a series of challenges that allows her to find her true identity well trying to change the government ways. Mare is a blood meaning she is treated differently than slivers the book connects to a lot of real world issues of racism and segregation. 

The plot has a few wrinkles in it but overall it was a engaging nail biting book putting you at the edge of your seat wanting to read more. Leaving you with a cliffhanger making me want to read the next book

Champion is a Fantasy/Sci-Fi book that I am giving 4 stars. It is the 3rd book in the Legend series and it is still just as good as the first. It takes place in a future where America has split into 2 sections, the Republic of America and the Colonies of America. The Republic is on the verge of war with the Colonies and they need help if they are going to win the war.

If you liked Legend and Prodigy, I believe it will be no different for Champion. The hook is great and it really gets you into the book, and the speed of the book is just perfect so that it keeps you interested, but it’s not too fast to where you can’t keep up. 

One thing I disliked about the book was how rapidly it switched back and forth from Day and June. It switched between them so often it could be hard to who was talking. Sometimes I would forget to the point where I lost traction in the book, and that is why this rating is not a 5 star review.

Overall, I would still recommend this book. It starts off great and continues with that throughout the book, even with the rapid change in characters.

This book is about two kids from completly different ways of growing up that end up finding a strange friendship while one is looking for the other to arrest. June is a republic soldier with one of the highest ranks and Day is a street crimminal that ran away from the government. June goes searching for Day, and finds a guy that doesn’t seem so scary.

If you do read this book you should expect to want to read the next books and it doesn’t slow down. If you don’t know if you should read it you should like it if you liked the hunger games, or divergent, but even more fast paced then thoes. In all I think it is a book that will keep you on your toes, and one that will just make you want to keep reading.

       They story takes place in the United States years and years in what we would call our future. The story doesn’t include a Sci-Fi future but it does have many changes in how the country is ran. There is something new about each page that pull the whole story together at the end. One thing I didn't realize I love  about this book is you have no expectations about the end because you get so into the plot line. 

       I would recommend this book to people who want to fall in love with characters and also are okay with reading the second and third books. The book makes you want to continue so if you love series I definitely recommend this one. Many people I know have loved this book and both boy and girls can attach to the characters and want to keep reading more. Legend also  has every other chapter called June and Day after the two main characters so if you do not enjoy knowing what the main idea of each chapter will be about that is something to keep in mind. Also this story doesn’t pick up until chapter 2 or 3 so I would give up to chapter 5 or 6 a chance before deciding you do or don’t enjoy the story. Overall I highly recommend this book because of the emotional connection and the amount of tragic and happiness and confusion that occurs. I believe this book deserve five out of five stars because of the characters and intense plot line.

The book is about a boy that ends up in the middle of the maze with many other bays that have made a life there. Everything changes when a girl comes and they think it is a sign that they need to get out. They take a journey to try to figure out the maze and how it’s mind works.

If you like action books with some mystery I think you would like it. It is more aimed towards teens but can be a good read for any age. Overall it is a pretty slow paced book but has a good story that would be great for people that like action.

One of the cons that I felt came from the story was at times I felt like the story went too slow or even became boring. If the author decided to make the story exciting at all times, it could’ve been way more interesting than it was. What I found to be the moral of the story was to have one another’s backs. Throughout the story multiple times the characters have found themselves in time of need in which others help them out in. For example Percy’s Duel with hades to save his friends when they were getting sucked into the underworld.  It created a good motive for young readers to always have someone's back if someone in their life is in the time of need. Overall I believe that “Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief” will continue to be my favorite story because of all of the great structure that came with it.

       I normally dont like reading but if i read magic tree house I could finish a book in one sitting. It is wonderful how she writes. 

I wish I could thank her in person and tell her how I have read 45 of her 54 books and I am currently reading the 46th book, dogs in the dead of night. So far its just as good as all her other books. Love these books and love the author!

          I really love the characters so far as well they keep getting better and better and they all different and unique personalities in plus in their points of view just makes me want to read more and more it's really wonderful. It just makes you think like “thats how my friends are with me” or just makes you wonder what a great team they are when they are all together in their adventures. My favorite dragonet so far is glory the rainwing she has an amazing acid in her that can melt basically anything and she has a lot of bright colors on her and she can camoflauge .I really like her personality she is judgmental and doesn't trust other a lot but she gives them a chance and she cares a lot of her team/friends clay,tsunami,starflight,sunny. 

         I recommend this book to people who likes fantasy or dragons or just wants to read adventurous books and mysteries ones. I really hope the other books are interesting like the books i've read soon its starflights point of view in the next book the dark secret book 4.

Although it was a good book, sometimes the plot was a little hard to follow, but in the end it all came together.  It also was slow at the beginning, but began to pick up the action towards the middle.

The genres of the book is science-fiction and dystopian.  If you like the book For Darkness Shows the Stars, then this book is right for you.  If you’re into someone finding out about their past, and a little romance mixed in, then this book is good for you.

Another reason that I love this book is good is the way that the story play’s out. The book makes you want to keep reading because you just want to find out what happens. Also it never has a part that is not interesting. As I read I never really found a part where something felt slow or boaring, never wanting to skip a page or two.

Finally I think you should read Monster because it is unique, interesting, and has you keep reading page after page.

Amy Gumm is the most stereotypical white trailer trash girl from Kansas that I have ever read about, but I suppose that that is the point of her character. She has nothing but her mom and her mom’s pet rat Star. When a tornado warning is announced and her mom leaves to go party with friends,  Amy goes for her hidden money to find that her mother had been stealing it all along and it was completely gone. With not a care left in the world she hunkers down for the storm and is suddenly swept up into the tornado, finding herself landing in Oz. A boy appears and disappears with little explanation of what is going on and Amy has to decide if she is going to wander down the yellow brick road or not. She discovers Glinda the “Good” Witch and her “perma-smile”, and before being caught she is dragged off by a munchkin. Amy learns that drastic measures have occured and dangerous things have been done to Oz. She meets The Order of the Wicked and learns Dorothy rules and is destroying it, and Amy has to kill her so it can all be resolved. She has to avoid temptation and destroy Dorothy for everything to be over, but can she do it? 

I would rate Dorothy Must Die a 4 out of 5 stars because the book is very promising and has an interesting plot. It is part of a trilogy and I have read the first two and liked them thus far. The characters are generally rounded and I enjoyed the thrilling read, although it is a bit dark. I like how realistic Amy is, because I know that some authors like to bring their characters to a level of perfection, but Amy is not perfect and that is what makes her interesting. There isn’t much room for romance in this book but I enjoy that the action and the plot were put first above everything else. However I do wish that Dorothy was less changed, I know that it’s supposed to seem like she is completely changed but it is almost like she is an entirely new person. 

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige is a very promising book and is a great read if you are ready for the ride.

Zoee Brodahl (Hour 1)

  The plot is very original, but in some ways could be compared to the Harry Potter series. Both of the books have very unique forms of magic that could be appealing to readers interested in certain kinds of fantasy. Like I said before, the books plot is very original so although it can be compared to others, it doesn't feel like you’re reading the same thing over again.

   The characters are different in their own ways, but their personalities click together just right which makes for a very enjoyable read. I find it hard to make it through a book when the characters don't seem to fit with each other and I'm happy to say I’ve never had that problem with this book. Everything such as the plot and relationships between the characters are very natural and nothing comes off as forced

The book is told from the first perspective. Our narrator, Wanda has taken possession of a human body (Melanie) and almost all the thoughts we hear in the book are from Wanda. Melanie's memories are told in first-person from her point of view, but they are told in past tense. 

At first it seems like it’s a book about aliens but once you start to get more into it, you realize that it's about exploring what it means to be human, which includes survival, love, trust, and friendship. The author develops the characters in a way that the person reading the book can't help but want them to keep going. The setting is also described sensationally.If your looking for an adventure, lots of action, and romance this book is definitely for you.

The main character, Christopher Boone, takes the perspective of the story as we hear his thought process through not only the “investigation”, but his day to day life, too. It’s an interesting topic to explore, and it’s definitely hard to write about the perspective of someone with a mental disorder. I applaud the author (Mark Haddon) for his genius and perseverance.

This book does have its kinks, some may get annoyed with the many illustrations in the book, but I believe that anyone can look past the small things of this book and take the time to read it.

However, a couple months before Lena’s scheduled procedure, she falls in love with an Invalid (a person who has not taken the Cure and lives in the Wilds) named Alex. He was born in the Wilds outside the city, and has pretended to be cured in order to live undetected in the city and be in the resistance. He offers Lena the means of escape from the procedure that will destroy her ability to love. While trying to gain Lena's love, he finds out about her past life and family. When she mentions her "dead" mother and how she always kept a specific necklace with her, he knew who she was. Alex then came and wanted to show Lena that her mother was still alive. So he brings her to the Crypts (a place where people who have not obeyed the rules stay) to show her that her mother was still alive. When they go and get to the room where her mother is supposed to be, they find it empty, with a life-size hole in the wall.

Ever since then, Lena has thought that her whole childhood was a lie and wanted to leave. The two of them could leave the city and live in the Wilds, joining the rebels who oppose the procedure and the government. She would no longer be trapped under the laws of the Government… but at what cost?

Thomas, a boy who just arrived at the glade just like the many more before him but they all have the same problem… they are all trapped in a huge maze and have been for years. Thomas is the one that changes all of it and throughout his short time at the glade he makes enemies and friends really fast. All the people in this story were not developed like other books they all had no memories, so the way they were developed were showing/talking about their skills and experiences from their time within the glade.

This book was very interesting and I enjoyed it very much. It also is action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat but even includes little details that are very interesting too.

If you liked this book there are many others like it for example ¨Divergent¨ or ¨Hunger Games¨, to name a few. Also there is a movie which is alright but I definitely enjoyed the book more.
