The television show that shows the idea of Naturalism: Lost

In the TV show Lost, a plane crashes on an unknown island. Help never arrives, and the surviving passengers on the plane have to figure out how to survive. There are many unforeseen obstacles on this island, such as hostile inhabitants and even polar bears. This is a perfect example of what I believe life is like. Similar to Naturalism, Lost exemplifies how forces out of your control, such as a technical problem in the plane causing it to crash on an island, can affect your life. Still, you have to do your best to make the best out of your situation, just like the characters from this television show.

Song that taught me to dream: "Dream On" by Aerosmith

Not only is “Dream On” by Aerosmith a great song, but the lyrics are also extremely motivating and inspirational. The lyric, “dream until your dreams come true,” sums up the meaning of the song very well. It is simply about continuing to dream until you get all of the things you want from your life. I agree with what is being said in this song, and believe that you should always have faith and always dream big because anything can happen.

Song that taught me about friendship : "Lean on me" by Bill Withers

“Lean on me” is all about being there for a friend or loved one in their time of need. In my life, I would like to be a person that people can “lean on” when they need help with a problem or just need someone to talk to. Additionally, I want to have someone in my life who I can talk to if I ever need help because, “we all need somebody to lean on.” This song really taught me about the importance of friendship, because friends are the ones that get you through rough patches in yourlife.

The book that shaped my views on seizing opportunities in life: The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

In The Hobbit, there is a young man named Bilbo Baggins who lives a fairly ordinary life. He is satisfied with his ordinary life, until one day an opportunity arrives for him to go on a big adventure. At first he is hesitant, and doesn’t want to leave the comfort of his home. However, he eventually says yes to going on this adventure, and in the end he winds up with new friends, an amazing story to tell, and a large amount of wealth. What I take from this book is that I should always step out of my comfort zone and seize unique opportunities. It could be something as crazy as going on a life threatening adventure, or something as simple as trying a new food. Either way, stepping out of my comfort zone will result in new experiences and new stories to tell for the rest of my life.
