February Theme-Our Money by special maths

Learning about money

We are learning about our money in Slovenia - euro. We learned the difference between notes and coins and worked with self made money - 1€, 2€, 5€, 10€ and 20€. Our classroom shop was open for other students in our school. We were selling product that children brought from home (empty bottles, packaging, school supplies, toys...). The best part was our trip. Every student had 5€ and we went to local hill Pohorje that still has some snow, so students had to buy tickets for cableway. We sledged at the top and had so much fun. They also bought tea at the inn. All such experiences are very valuable because they rarely use money with their parents.

Today we played the 'special math game' together with an other class. It was very nice! We were sad that we had to stop at the end of the schoolday! We would like to play it again!

February theme-Our money

This month we learned about different currencies from the countries of our dear friends from the eTwinning project. Then we opened our classroom store where we practiced our shopping skills and calculating with our new country currency-euro. One of us was a salesman, and others were customers. The salesman had to return the right amount of the money to the customer,and the customer had to check if the salesman refund him correct amount.
After that, we learned about the special currency SNP from the project, solved the online puzzle and finally played the Special Math game. We liked the game very much and we will play it many more times for sure.

We are happy to finish one more topic. We had so much fun as always. We shopped with our special coins for our project. We combined our project money with the puzzle we prepared. We shared our commemorative coins to commemorate the safe internet day. We ended our event by playing our last game.

We really enjoyed learning about money and playing with it. We sorted the Romanian money - banknotes and coins, we played at the store and at the market-seller-buyer with the special money for the project and we were happy that we went shopping with our parents. We played the Special Maths game together with our volunteer friends from the Ion Ghica Economic College in Targoviste. We felt wonderful. We also competed in completing the puzzle.

February theme "Our Money"

This month's theme was "Our Money". My pupils really enjoyed all the activities we made. First, we talked about our coins - Euros. We counted them, we categorized and then pilled them. We played a shopping game with paper coins and then made puzzles with the "special maths money" in our computer. We also did a quiz in quizizz.com which was relative with the money from all the countries that participate in the project and at the end we played the unique "Custom Special Math Game"!!

On this month, February, we worked with my students to learn money, euros. We mentioned them, we touched them, we played with money in a mini super market, we have in our school and then we complete the activity with the puzzles. It was really fun and children love this exercise. Finally, we played with the monopoly-type board game and we exercise our knowledge in money. It was a very successful theme, that is in our daily life and we want our pupils to learn it.

We talked to our students about the characteristics of our paper money. There are 6 banknotes in Turkey, 5,10,20,50,100 and 200 liras. On one side of all coins, there is a picture of our country's founder, our great leader ATATÜRK. On the other side of our coins, there are pictures of important figures in the fields of science, culture and literature in our history. We learned about their functions and features by making representative purchases with our coins.

This month's theme is our money. Eda's area of expertise :) Because Eda loves to go to the canteen every break. Going to the bazaar and shopping is the best reward for him. In addition to these, we used web 2 tools with Eda to refresh our knowledge and make up for our deficiencies. We got to know them again using the printouts of our money. We invited our friends to our class and played our great game with them. By the way, Eda won the game :) I said Eda is very good at this job :) It was a month that we had a lot of fun, as in every activity. Thanks to everyone involved :)

We are Mira, Rama and Diana. We got to know the value of coins and we played the jigsaw puzzle. Our teacher, Maram, helped us. How fun and all. I won and she gave me a gift 🎁. I like that and I want more toys and gifts.

The connection between mathematics and real life is very important. While students play a game about money they are learning for life in a fun way. Students learned the rules of the games and taught their classmates. It was so much fun!
