Making craters is also great. A large box lid with flour, covered in cocoa, and the kids drop in smallish rocks from a height. We have a bunch of pictures of the moon and they try to see if their crater is like a real crater on the moon. I like the addition of the sprinkles.

I make fun activities with younger students in Religion and also with older students. The interesting age is the time of Galileo Galilei when the Church refused the scientific discoveries.
The moon was also well known in Germany in the myth of the man of the moon which was a song in the fifties.

I haven't done any fun activities as of yet with my students on the Moon as I am a relatively new teacher, but definitely in the future I will ask my students to research some interesting topics on the Moon in order to make poster projects or something else along those lines.

Yes, once I gave a full moon to my pupils and ask them to draw whatever they beleive that might exist on the moon. What i gather was amazing. Most of them drew animals and some of them creatures like humans.

I've made the activity Craters on the moon with my little students (6-7 years old). We used a mix of cocoa and carob powder and some rocks. In the end our Moon's surface looked even worse than in reality...Making craters was easy and fun. They discovered themselves the links between the height/size of the objects and the size, depth and shapes of the impact craters.

Once I tried the activity explaining the orbit of the Moon around Earth (and also eclipses) with some kids acting like the Sun, Earth and Moon. I remember they really enjoyed it and I hope that they learned about the subject too.

Yes. I show students why we only see a moon face. One student impersonates the Sun, another the Earth, and another the Sun. The "Moon student" must use the same time period (chose by his companions) to make a full round on himself and a full turn around the "Earth student" . After so many attempts and laughter, the whole class understands that from Earth we can only see a face of the Moon

Yes, I did the activity with early childhoods; activity was mixed type of NASA and Universe Awareness websites that is shown on examples. Even, when I searched activities I used website. I would like to make a moon legend contest. After watching some videos, students would do some research about ancient stories about the moon from different cultures all over the world.
