Trade was very important to the Vikings because it leads them to get some of the food and resource that were needed for them to survive and have a greater civilization.
Viking Ships
The Vikings had two major vessels that they used for all there needs the knarr and the Drakkar. The knarr was a trading vessel they had used but, it was traded out by the Hansa cog. the Drakkar is what we know today as the Viking longship. The Drakkar had many rooms some of the rooms were used to house the oars. Back in the Viking age, the Viking longships were some of the safest boats to travel on. The only thing that would make their boats go was the sail or the oars. The sial was in the middle of most of the Viking longships. the longships were a maximum size 140 feet long. Some of them had 34 rows on each size. Some historians today think that there were boats that were twice the size (Tucker).
Viking Trade
The Vikings had traded many things. The Vikings could trade resources for minerals and, with the minerals, they could make tools and they could make jewelry. They could also get the rock to make whetstones or grindstones. One of the luxury items was fur. The Vikings would also trade ivory, fish, timber, and amber. Some of the more unique things that they would have sold were whale bones and foran art. Some of the Viking's main exports were salt, spices, and wine. Wool, silk, pottery, glass, Weapons, and coins (Wolf).
Food
The Vikings would eat about two meals per day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. The food was served the main hall served on raised platforms. If you were wealthier you would get to have a table cloth while you ate. Many of the Vikings usually ate with their fingers but, if they needed to cut something then they would take out a knife they took everywhere and cut their food. Porridge, Soup, and Stews were served with spoons. Their food usually consisted of dairy, produce, and meat. The milk that they got was used for many different things it was used to drink, to prepare meals, and it makes the cheese and buttermilk. The Vikings got most of there meat from pigs, cows, sheep, lambs, goats, and horses. The Vikings always slaughtered their animals in the fall so they wouldn't have to feed them in the winter. There were many other birds and animals that were hunted. Whale and seal meat was a delicacy for them. They also ate freshwater fish and shellfish. It deepened on was they were but they had many fruits and vegetables. They also had the resources to season their foods to give it more of a flavor (Wolf).

The government was very important to the Vikings because it leads them to win wars and have a greater civilization.
Food
The Vikings would eat about two meals per day. It deepened on was they were but they had many fruits and vegetables. They also had the resources to season their foods to give it more of a flavor (Wolf).
Leaders
There are just a few of the leaders that I will be doing. Ragnar Lothback he was the hero of the Saga of Ragan Lothback. Many nowadays would say that he was a mix of many of the other leaders. Rollo of Normandy was the founder of Nomady which is in France. He was involved in the siege of Paris. The war has kept going on much longer if it were not for Charles Fats to end the war by giving them goods and money. After that war, Rollo remanded in the area and he kept raiding different small settlements. Erik the Red was one of the many Viking leaders. Eric the Red had founded Greenland. He was outlawed from the city for killing a man and he had to stay away for three years. He had heard of an ara West and while he had to stay away for three years he was up there. He called the area Greenland. When he was allowed to come home to his city he told everybody about the place that he saw. Later he had made settlements there. Harold Hadrada was the last of the Norse Kings. he had died in the battle of Stamford Bridge. He had left then he later came back for the throne. He had sailed to Denmark but he was never able to concur it. He thought that he could defeat England to get there throne but in the end, he had died trying (Mark).

Although the Vikings had many great things about them they also had some weaknesses like every civilization.
Sacrifices
The Vikings thought that sacrifices would help their relationship with the gods and help them get what they wanted. The Vikings thought that they could bargain with the gods. The main people that would sacrifice were the priests. Sometimes people from home would do sacrifices to the shrines at there home. The main sacrifices small crops animals and people. Odin the Vikings main god demanded human sacrifices. That is one of the main reason this is one of there challenges. Most of the sacrifices that the priest did were for the whole village. Most of the Vikings had shrines at their homes. They could pray and other sacrifices.
Gods
The gods were very important to the Vikings civilization but they also lead them to think and do different things. The Vikings thought of the gods as extra powerful humans they didn't think of them anything much more than that. They at first had gods that were similar to the German Gods but then they changed them to gods that more fit their hardcore life. They thought that their gods were responsible for there weather. If there was bad weather the Vikings would be mad because they knew that it was the gods. They would bargain with the gods (Greenblatt and Peter).

The Vikings had great technological advancements that lead their civilization to thrive.
Long Ship
The Vikings had two major vessels that they used for all there needs the knarr and the Drakkar. The Vikings used different things that be in the water or in the air to help them find there location. If they saw birds then they would know that they were close to land. Fish helped them know the location of where they were. When they felt changes in the wind pattern they would know how close to land they would be. They would also use sunstone for navigation (Hood-Whitesell).
Education
The Vikings education was very advanced and it let them know more about the world they live in and their civilization. The Vikings had three types of schools cathedral, monotheistic, and town schools. All of these schools taught different things. The cathedral schools taught grammar, rhetoric, and dialects. Some of the education they didn't teach as much as the other stuff was geometry, astronomy, music, and arithmetic. If one of the kids was acting badly then they would whip, cane, or birch them. Many of the wealthier people could send their kids to secondary school. Most girls were not allowed to go to school. Girls would train at home to cook clean and take care of the house (Wolf).
