Fought between the Union and Confedarcy. Ended in 1865. Robert Lee surrendered to Grant. Civil War was about slavery between north and south. South wanted slaves, North did not want slaves. Series of battles happened. Lasted for 4 years. First battle is the battle of sumter. If either one's flag went down that means the other side won.
Things you don't wanna know is the amount of killing. There was a lot of protesting against one another of North and South. You got drafted to fight. Very bloody.

I learned that all the southern states didn't secede at once and with Lincoln’s election on Nov 6, 1860, South Carolina was fed up. On Dec 20, South Carolina repealed its ratification from the U.S. Constitution and left the Union and a lot of other states were debating on which side to stay on or switch to.

I learned children had many jobs during the civil war. Mostly the children would gather supplies for the soldiers, some even worked in weapon plants and government offices. Children even found a way to fight in the war. Many schools shut down due to the war, kids then found a way to fight in the war.
