1.) Pedagogical Lens: For this I chose to use a culturally responsive and feminist lens. I wanted to include sources that would bring in many different cultural perspectives and opinions would would broaden the students horizons. They may find connections to the women or welcome a different perspective. I also chose to use the feminist lens for 2 reasons. One being because the girls in the class may feel empowered to hear women overcome adversity ad it ma inspire them. The second reason being it challenges male students to look from a new perspective that they cannot relate to.

2.) Why is this relevant to middle school students?
This is relevant to middle school students because they are at an age where they are starting to face adversity and opposing views. This is also often the age that girls start to recognize and feel the bias that is against them in the world. It is important to show young men ad women how strong and inspiring women can e. It is also important to show them that they can learn from the mistakes and actions of others. Students can use these resources to tackle writing assignments about facing adversity themselves.

3.) How do the resources support the topic of facing adversity and women in social justice?
All of these sources give background on the adversity these women have faced in their lives, how they overcame it, and then what they accomplished in spite of it. These resources show some of these women's most important accomplishments and how they got to wear they are today.
