11am-12:40pm: Sir Zaki brought all the intern students for a tour to learned more about Sunway lagoon. I learned more details about the packaging, pricing that Sunway lagoon provides for their customer. At first sir zaki asked us to watch a performance at wildlife park. The performance is very special because it’s the main signature performance by Sunway lagoon. After that, we went to visit surf beach, Nickelodeon park, wildlife park, extreme park, sharknado theme area and many more. I learned more about Sunway lagoon in details. I enjoyed myself while learning as well. Sir Zaki asked us some questions too, firstly he asked us how metres long the suspension bridge is. The suspension bridge is a very well known place in sunway lagoon. It connects many places for make it easier to customer going to another park. The suspension bridge length is 428metres and it is 60 feet above the lake. Sunway lagoon also have three world record of having waterplexx 5D which give people to experience more while having some movements and water splashes during watching the show. Moreover, sunway lagoon has the world largest surf pool which called as Surf Beach. And then the third world record is the Vuvuzela. Vuvuzela is the world largest vortex ride. 

Then we learned more about the pricing of cabana and the types of services they provided for cabana rentals

During this first week, I started to get briefed by Sir Zaki, Mdm Lenny and Mr Naween more about the main entrance and the working system. I learned more about how to scan the wrist band, bag checking, and wearing band for the customers. Moreover, I worked as receptionist for 3 days. As a receptionist, I did duties like attending calls from the office phone, learned more about Sunway lagoon theme park rules and regulations, how to assist customer to purchase ticket or other amenities via online, transferring calls to different department, courier service (Abx& DHL), booking room for meeting, checking emails and replying it in correct order. Moreover, I also did file checking and arranged it accordingly to its date in finance department office. 

2) What I learned ? 

Through this work, I’ve learned how to talk with customer and try to understand them more while solving their problems. Moreover, I had learned how to check customer’s bag, helping customers to wear wrist band and also scanning their bands and tickets easily. These helped me to create my work easier and I can start doing it without any problems. Furthermore, I’ve learned more things while I was working in reception as a receptionist. The things I’ve learned was how to attend calls through the office phone. Attending calls from customer increased my confidence level in talking. I believed I’ve improved my talking skills in a good level. Then, I helped some customers to buy tickets via online or even solving their doubts in ticket rate or rules and regulations of Sunway Lagoon Themepark. Other than that, I’ve learned more details of courier service. Miss Durgga taught me how to make courier service (ABX and DHL) at the office through guiding me one by one. Then, she also taught me how to book room for meeting. I also did two bookings for meeting room in April. Other than that, I’ve learned how to read and reply emails that receiving through the sunway lagoon official website email. I’ve also had replied some of the emails regarding about customer’s enquiries details of price, theme park attractions or rules. While doing all of this work, I always will sanitise the place I’m working every 1hr to ensure that I’m working in a safe environment and providing the same for other workers as well. 

3) Future Learning : 

Through getting knowledge of learning this work, I can ensure that I’ll improve my talking skills more and also my confidence in level. I can understand that working in a theme park needs more communication skills and I was lacking of that. So, I can assure that my confidence level and talking skills will improve more through this working process. Not only that, I also learned more stuffs about office work while I was working as receptionist. It made me to understand the whole situation clearly of how an office work will be done and I feel like learning this skills would help me for work in any kind of field easily. It will help me for improve my general skills also such as replying emails, receiving official calls, creating paperwork and many more.

While working at wildlife, I learned how to talk with customer to convince them to buy the food kit. Moreover, I became close with animals and learned how to take care of them. These things made me to realised that working at sunway lagoon is just not about working but it gives us a full life experience to learn more about the place and also gain more knowledge as well. Through working at wildlife, I learned more about animals, how to handle them, how to feed them and how to make them feels comfortable as well. I’ve learned how to treat animals in wildlife area. I’ve learned that giving enough food and water for them won’t be enough but we need to provide them a safe feeling towards us. 

Future learning. 

I believe that I can proudly say that I gain a lot of information and general knowledge through this week. This thing does not only apply for the working time and also I can apply this in my future career also. Moreover, I also feels more comfortable and being extrovert with different types of customers and understand their needs and wants also. As a worker, I would try my best to give more in future by learning all these stuffs.

1:40-5pm: Assigned to work at scanning area. Helped customer to solve their enquiries and problems. 

5pm: working hour ended 

10am: start checking customer’s bag and learned how to handle customers or any critical situations in smooth way. 

11am: cleaned the whole table and sanitise it every 5-10 mins. 

11:30am-12:30pm: Lunch break. 

12:30pm-5pm : Bag Checking (remove any foods or beverages in good way, explained to customer why needs to check bag)

5pm: Working hour ended. 

10am: started scanning customer’s wrist band, sanitise the place every 10 mins. 

11am-12:40pm: Scanning walk ins customers wrist bands. 

12:40-1:40pm : Lunch break.
