I remember from social studies and language arts that segregation was a big problem in the 50s-70s. There were many people who fought against this. Some, like Martin Luther King Jr, used peaceful protest. Others, like Malcolm X, used some violence to try to make change. Rosa Parks also used peaceful protest and was arrested because of it.
