GCSE Geography Students visited the River Clywedog to collect data for the Unit 2 NEA. We stopped at three sites to investigate how the River Clywedog changes as it flows downstream.

Students who are part of the Business Studies Course visited the office and warehouse of Lester Cladding LTD in Buckley. This was part of their action research project for their GCSE where they were looking at how businesses acted in a sustainable way and how this impacts multiple stakeholders within the community.

Religious Studies

Students visited the mosque to explore its key features and hear first-hand accounts of the Muslim way of life. The visit enriched Year 7's inquiry into What shapes our beliefs? and strengthened Year 11 students' understanding of Islam in preparation for their GCSE Religious Studies examinations.

Year 10 went to visit Ruthin Gaol. This allowed the pupils to see first hand what a Victorian prison was like. They entered cells, witnessed and tried the different punishments and tasks the prisoners would have to face when they were sentenced. They also saw how the prison had to adapt during WW2.

Year 7 students went into to Buckley to investigate whether Buckley fits the national trend of the decline of the High Street. Students collected data at 3 sites to determine which one was the busiest and why?

BTEC Tourism students visited Chester Zoo to help complete their Unit 1 NEA on Customer Service at Chester Zoo. The workshop helped students understand the Zoo's target market and how they are changing the Zoo to be more about protecting endangered species.
