I formed a List of the locations then I wrote a script/ guide. Once I did that I called and talked to all the locations I found to find out if volunteers are allowed. Out of seven locations three said they are not allowing volunteers, Three said they were not sure and I would get a call back, and one said yes I have the green light to go in but they don't know where I would be placed and if the dance project was possible.  I started at 8:42am and ended at 11:08am.

I met with Patty and she told me to look at community centers instead of residential centers but when I was researching I found that community centers are used more for little kids programs or event, no so much elders anymore. I started at 11:11 and stopped at 12:09. I continued again at 12:54 and again did not find anything I thought was relevant to my research so I stopped at 1:32.

I started my written form for my first draft of my senior project. I'm starting with my introduction. I started at 1:32 and stopped at 2:01. I started some organization work and placed everything in a folder in my google drive named "Grecia's Senior Project 2021-2022" then I got a call back to from El Castillo to  contact Santana for more information but I got no answer so I left a message and by this time it was 2:21.

From 2:29 -3:00 I met with patty to talk about different questions I could ask in my interviews tomorrow at the Pacifica senior center.

It is 52 minutes away from my house so I left at 11:00am and got there at 12:13 because of traffic. I went in and the people were very nice. I introduced myself and the guy at the front desk remembered me from my call. Then he introduced me to one of the directors and I sat down with him to talk about what I was interested in doing and I explained to him why I wanted to volunteer. I explained that I was a senior at Camino de Paz and I had chosen to volunteer as part of my senior project. I also explained that I wanted to do the dance project and he said he would talk to the activities director to see if there were any proto calls that I had to follow. I gave him my information and he said he would give me a call once he has more information for me. I left at 1:26pm.

Once I got back to my house I did some more research and I found another senior center called Vista Living Care, which is specifically for seniors with dementia. I am planning on contacting them tomorrow and maybe paying them a visit.

Here they take care of specifically seniors with dementia. I spent from 7:58- 8:32 reading and trying to contact them. They sadly did not answer but I left a message and my number and I plan on calling again.

At 8:34 I had a phone call with patty to discuss what I had done yesterday and we both agreed that it would be helpful to me to get a mentor. A professional that could help guide me and point me in different directions. The call lasted 4 minutes.

I got a call back from Pacifica, he said I could volunteer and he asked about my availability. We decided the days that would work best would be Mondays and Tuesdays. I would go from 1-3pm on Mondays and from 3:30-4:30 on Tuesdays. He mentioned that the dance project might not be possible because a lot of the residents don't come out of their room but there are a lot of other activities I could do like book reading and such. our phone call was from 9:09-9:46. I am put on the schedule for Sep: 20. 21, 27, 28. 
I plan on going in the first day and just introducing myself and getting to know everyone before I start talking about the project.

Because of Covid and other obstacles that have presented themselves along the way, there is very little time to finish the project. And because of that we discussed my schedule and the plan to continue progressing in the most efficient way possible.

Margaret and I will be taking the whole day on Monday to focus on my senior project and college admissions.

Then i did some fixing of my schedule tracker and started putting in the new lessons with the new dates until 11:22.
