A big main idea about the industrial revolution.

One main idea about the Industrial Revolution
is that it led to the creation of Labor Unions. Labor unions were an organization of workers formed to protest and further rights and interests. When hiring workers, they made them sign called a collective bargain. This meant that when they sign their name on this contract, you were not aloud to join any Labor Unions. If someone was part of a union or starting one under contract, the boss could put them in bad work enviroments so bad they quit or could fire them on the spot.

One key figure is Eugene Debs. Debs was a radical labor leader and promoted socialism. He also encouraged working class to revolt. Another key figure is Mary"Mother" Harris Jones. Not only was she a labor leader, but, she was an advocate for the ending of child labor . After she saw the dangerous conditions the kids were working in she was horrified. Some were even missing arms and legs. She then decided to do the Children's march in front of the white house so that president at the time, T. Roosevelt could see how banged up these kids were and their conditions.

The most interesting thing I have learned??

The most interesting thing i learned about was the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. I found this interesting because of how little ways they had to escape the roaring flames.only one out of four elevators were working. The fire exist broke, and they didn't have any sprinkler systems in the building. This was the biggest tragedy before 9/11. 146 workers died, mostly teenage girls and younger women. This was a huge topic because this is when the start of trying to ban child labor really started and opened many eyes.

Another main idea is strikes. This is a violent clash between workers and police and is between a group of employees who want something more. They get together and protest which can get violent. Most times fights were common and could lead to potential injury or even death. Strikes were known as dangerous and caused all the trouble.
