Society only accepts, and looks towards him (as an American) at the end after he passed the test. Funny that you now have to pass a test to become an American, when America was all about accepting “everyone” from all around the world. Willy on the other hand gets shipped out of the US.

What does that tell you about Homer’s idea of being an American?
