Walter has a tough personality. In the novel A Rain In the sun, Walter gives his son money that his family "doesn't have". "While talking to his wife he states , "What you tell the boy things like that for? Here, son— (He hands the boy the coin, but his eyes are directed to his wife’s, TRAVIS takes the money happily) TRAVIS Thanks, Daddy. (He starts out. RUTH watches both of them with murder in her eyes. ) WALTER (Without even looking at his son, still staring hard at his wife) In fact, here’s another fifty cents ... Buy yourself some fruit today—or take a taxicab to school or something!" This quote shows that he likes being more of the "man" or provider for the family. The younger don't have the best income, especially for the time being and for Walter to be giving Travis the money that they shouldn't be spending shows that he wants his son to have things he didn't growing up.

Personally, I think that Walter just wants better for his family and will do anything to make things better for them, which i agree with. I don't agree with him not making smart decisions, like giving Travis money with money they could use for other things, or like spending money that he was supposed to put away for Bentethea. But in all I think that he's a good person because he's a family man

The Rocky statue shows that no matter how down-bad you are , that you can always be an underdog and come out a champion. This is similar to Walter because he overcomes adversity like Rocky.

If there was a quote to describe Walter it would be "Follow your dreams". Walter shows that within himself, of pursuing with the liquor store. He tells Travis that they will be rich one day from Walter, although he tells Beneatha that going to school isn't what they should be "wasting" there money on.

These lyrics represents Walter because No matter what he goes through he gets through it. Like when he gets over being mad at his wife, or after spending the money, he keeps going on because these things can be changed.

Another movie character that compares to Walter is Will Smith who plays Christopher Gardner in "The Pursuit of Happines". They both show that no matter what happens to them they will always come out Victiourus.g
