         <description><![CDATA[<div>Going back to school and suggesting adding either a grade level flex time or whole school flex time to on top of interventions. Kids could pick the topic that they were interested in as long as the topic was a target that they were working on. This would spark their intrinsic motivation and get them excited about their learning.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>We have begun grouping and regrouping based on level</li><li>Now we are challenging ourselves to prevent tracking with level based grouping and now plan to group based on choice in target with some ability grouping within that</li><li>We are also going to discuss fidelity of Lucy Calkins--is teaching at a pace really best for learners? Should we be reflecting more and pausing to get evidence of learners learning before progressing at such a rapid pace?</li><li>We will discuss flex target time (Wednesdays? For an hour?) for ‘intervention’ time--beating that term because ALL need individualized targeted learning and work</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I used to think that the data I collected about their academic performance was the MAIN reasons for grouping. Now I think (and have sort of always known) that looking at the ENTIRE child is the most important.&nbsp; I never considered grouping students by interest instead of academics or behaviors.<br><br>Two points for all learners:<br>These aren't anything new to me, but they confirmed that my thoughts were on the right track.<br>-Grouping by interest<br>-Cheering students on for smaller goals, not just setting large goals. Make small bench marks for them to reach on their way to being proficient.<br>-Word choices on how I address my group of learners.<br>-Education is a business - how can I best use the resources available to me.<br>-"Light Bulb Lab" - Flex group name<br><br></div>]]></description>
