They used the ideas of the freedom that were used in the articles of confederation and they used ideas newly thought of to give the government power but not too much to overall, give us a government that will keep the people most happy and free. They gave the central government power to three branches that all deal with big issues. These branches; legislative, executive, and judicial; were all given different powers and responsibilities. They also gave them the power to put other branches in check so they don't get too strong. The state governments were given the power to deal with smaller specific issues in there state.
